They actually took them out in the later installments of the Pokemon games when Online Gambling regulations became a thing. And in the remakes of the old ones with, they don't have the casino, this was already brought up on the first couple pages. :P

    They don't.

They had to stop including the Game Corner after new laws were passed. They didn't even bother with a silly voltorb flip game when they released the rerelease of the 3rd generation games.
Heck this is why the remakes of the 2nd generation games had to abandon the slot machines in favor of the silly voltorb flip game in the first place.

Considering they had to take it out of Pokemon, I'm going to have to guess that's a no go.

Wow had no idea. I was about to mention that there are plenty of games such as pokemon that had casinos with slot machines....guess not anymore due to laws.

As for player-run casinos i guess that falls under the esrb "player interaction not rated"

I also think they mentioned how they planned for certain features (like buying TT cards from mogstation) but couldn't do it due to the legality of it

I have thoroughly enjoyed the bantering back and forth of the many interpreted definitions of gambling vs. gamble and RNG vs. PRNG.
My point is this, I think SE realized that it's housing prices created a haven for RMT.
The players who gather and craft can feasibly make enough to afford a house, whereas the players who don't have a much harder time achieving that.

With as rampant as RMT is now, can you imagine how bad it will become if SE puts in slot machines?

The fact that we (players) are able (although not supposed to from the FFXIV ToS) to buy gil using actual dollars, in turn then being able to use said bought gil for gambling, it can be considered illegal.
This would hold more weight if SE allowed the purchase of gil directly, like some games do, and if there was an official (or officially tolerated) method of converting gil, or MGP even, back into dollars. There is neither. Any slot machines would give rewards in MGP, not gil, and there is no means of converting MGP directly into gil, even by purchasing prizes, since all MGP rewards are not sellable or tradeable.

Pachislo machines have you stop each reel at the push of a button, so if they just removed the lock-out system (where it only teases you along until so many GP/Tokens have been lost to the machine) so that every spin has a chance to be a winner based on your ability to stop the reels on the right combination, making it skill-based, and just have the potential prizes be minimal amounts of GP. Throw in some cute little FF-related video screen above/beside the reels that depicts a group in a dungeon fighting monsters or a chocobo race or something (where the "main characters" succeed if you hit any kind of positive combination, or fail/trip-up if you get nothing), and bam... Those things are fun regardless of the winnings.

It wouldn't be "gambling" since a player could potentially hit the "jackpot" (of a whopping 5gp or something) every single time, based on their skill.

again, it's not a question of how the currency conversion works, it's a question of the letter of the law specifically spelling out what a slot machine is and outright outlawing that construct.
They're VERY specific explicitly because of the very things Japanese gambling environments actually do to skirt their own laws. The difference is the Japanese let the loopholes continue to exist, while other countries narrowed their definitions to fill the loopholes.
Hell, Greece once narrowed their definition so much they outlawed regular arcade machines. For a while, Pac-Man was considered as illegal as a slot machine.

Slot machines are illegal in my state, and yet Facebook's "Vegas Slots" game exists and apparently lets you earn points towards stays within the actual city of Las Vegas. Best friend's parent's keep spamming me with game invites....

Unfortunately for a international game, they need to take into account alot of laws.

Then you have PSO2 - JP and SE Asia (different regional server)

Rappy Slots (Slot machines) and Mesetan Shooter (Shooter minigame)
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11zkh9nWcPQ

    Black Nyack (Blackjack)
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UjRjmdekOc

These are more interactive than the silly mini-games we have - minus Triple Triad I guess - but some of the rules (e.i. RANDOM) and card farming rate got old for me.
