Except. . .they are. Frixio hands you the Crystal of Lightning, watches a light from you absorb it, and tells you to be careful with it because it will come in handy in the future.

Also, I don't think he's drained the Crystals. For starters, I'm not sure they can be drained. Even after all the crap they've been put through, they still have energy. Besides, the only thing that shatters in our aether-vision is the pattern. And other languages make it clear that he has only sealed the blessing.

If you watch the CS again, you'll see the color fade from the crystals, one by one. Once all have been "drained" the seal shatters.

That's the thing, though. They go from "so full of aether it's literally sparking off the crystal" straight to blackened. There is no fading, as such. That's why I suspect Mid has sealed them off from everything for the time being.

Or that he drew on the power of the blessing of light to finish creating his new body. I'd imagine that the power of the blessing would probably have been enough for him to finish anything it might have still taken for such an ancient being to reincarnate (since he'd been kind of working on that for more than a decade.)

That was the impression I got, at least. That we'll get the Blessing back, but it'll be in a Midgardsomr flavor next time when he's deemed us worthy of having it back. In the meantime, he's not going to let that power simply languish in a being he deems currently unworthy of it.

I have to assume is because he's playing more of a long game, hoping that as we more fully manifest our Echo we'll sway to the Ascian side.

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss Elidibus as being strictly on the Ascians' side.

...as far as I know the aciens there were collecting horns similar to Tupsimati for whatever reasons, but they're apperantly "keys".

I'm still not sure what was up with the 1.0 horns, but my suspicion was that they wanted the horn associated with the Sahagin's history for assistance in materializing Leviathan.

On the topic of Tupsimati:

Let's not overlook the possibility that Tupsimati's origins and intended use might end up being irrelevant to why Nabriales coveted it (if, of course, that doesn't turn out to be the main point). It has the power to manipulate the aether with such strength as to summon twelve gods at one time with zero crystals. If your goal is to destabilize the aetherial balance so utterly as to allow for Zodiark's second coming, which is one possible interpretation of the Ascian plan, that could be a powerful tool. Discounting their desire for it could be like saying someone should have no interest in specifically stealing a flamethrower because their only goal is to somehow destroy something that is completely unrelated to flamethrowers (and incidentally flammable).

As for the "Seal"

I've got nothing. Well, next to nothing. Lahabrea and Elidibus are not the same as the others; they are of this world. The nature of the seal that barred entry to the Ascians ascended from the other world eludes me for the time being, as does whether it was at all in any way related to the seal on the aether confluence Midgardsormr protected.

I don't neccessary believe you're incorrect, but I have to mention that It isn't blessing that prevents us from primal tempering. it's the power of the echo. Granted, the echo is still a blessing but it's different from the blessing that Jormungand stripped from us.

Yeah, I'd have to say Elidibus is on the side of Elidibus. That he happens to have the same or mostly the same end goal as the other Ascians is the reason they're together.

Exactly we as the Warrior of Light received two, TWO blessings for the price of one: The Echo aka no mind whammie, soul/memory gazing, universal translator; and the Blessing of the Light aka Form Blazing sword, crystal mandala/circle, and block out foreign Ascians. Midgardsormr took away our Blessing of Light only. as can be seen in the next cutscenes we can still understand Nabrailes while Moenbryda couldn't. We can handle the primals but we got a dragon on our back checking up on us.

I doubt Midgardsormr took the blessing so he could use it to make his body. He's in Mor Dhona, the aetheric fountain of the world - no extra aether needed.
He removed it to test us, and stop us from draining Hydaelyn any further since she's very weak atm.

I wonder if the primal Phoenix was created due to Hydaelyn. If she expended her energy to give Louisoix the power to transform. The prayers to the 12 were one thing, but the aether had to come from somewhere.

If she expended a lot of her power to help defeat bahamut in the calamity, then that would explain why she's been so weak since the beginning of the main story. It wasn't apparent because she wasn't exactly doing much at first, but I do believe here strength has been waning for a while - since the calamity even.

Stopping Ultima was probably the breaking point, but I doubt that it drained her that much seeing as she's the mother crystal & a mega primal.
