Are we saying that I could use "return" after the fight is over and go back and explore the dungeon at my own pace? The reason I ask is that my experience was a speed run and I didn't get to go into all the various rooms (for the accomplishment of mapping Haukke Manor). This would be of great value to me.

you could just walk outside of the boss room

Sure you want this often chests are skipped as well
In Dezmael Darkhold, Wanderers Palace, Amdapor Keep and Pharos especially I tend to use this function to grab some nice mats that might drop. Might be connected to a suicide run but you just restart at start again and can go for next chest (you cannot imagine how close I get to the instance end in those if I really do all chests skipped ^^)

This helps in lower dungeons too. Many people skip the chest on the left side during the fork in Tam-Tam. (15) one. It can have a chance to drop the green earring for magic classes which sums for 44k on my server. I always return and run back for chests. You'll die but its worth it. o/

I wondered about this when I read the suggestion. If content was bypassed then it's got monsters that will attack in a pack.
I do like this suggestion since there's so many dungeons that I never fully explored.

I ran that dungeon several times b4 I figured this out lol. Thought u used the bloody scroll that drops from that boss or whatever to teleport!

One point to add: Some of the areas, you'll need a key to open... so make sure you grab all the keys you can to open those doors that weren't opened during the run. I can count at least two doors we don't normally open unless someone is asking for a full-clear for max EXP in that particular run.

The last door to the left before boss in HM people skip but there is a pack of mobs before the door. Idk if thm has aoe sleep by that time, but if you do, go for it. There's some good gear in there, accessories / neck>?, and tank shield.

Yeah I always make a point to tell folks to use the return command. Something along the lines of "Now we return to the start. Use the return command or just type in /return."
