Not necessarily. As long as everyone has >6.5k HP (thanks to Vit melded accessories and some respecs) and Virus + Dragon Kick is on Bahamut for each Gigaflare, you can survive with just a WHM.

That being said, SCH makes survival MUCH easier which is why many people argue it's the overall better job between the two.

No reason to sacrifice dps for vit. SCH can easily make the acc cap and stay in cleric for most of the fight.

Agreed, but in that direction we start getting into efficiency versus ability. My point was simply to say that it is possible to do it with WHM. I won't disagree with you though that WHM is lacking in certain departments and needs to get some love with 3.0. As it currently stands, both jobs can solo-heal all content in the game, but because SCH can do it while retaining important mitigation, special party buffs, enhanced debuffs, and aid to overall DPS increase (either through self or fairy), SCH is definitely the superior "job" of the two, even with its lack of pure healing output (simply because there really is no fight in FFXIV that absolutely 100% requires the healing output of a WHM, which causes the discrepancy).

LOL sch can solo heal T9 person I know is very skills at it we would have won too we got to 20% most of the times but decided on last wipe to just be safe and get another healer.

Virus from a SCH or SMN is need. All other viruses are counterfeit. Succor can mitigate anywhere from 600 to 900 damage and sacred soil. i have BAD math skills that can easily be 20-25% damage mitigated

I beg to differ, as it was solo healed by a WHM.

You're right. Lets all meld into vit. Totally the most efficient strat. #1. 7k HP BRD, highest deeps you'll ever see.

PS: They still had a SMN for Virus. Funny thing about that. No good groups run SMN's anymore. I'm just saiyan.

I ran with a WHM in T9 about a month ago who was WELL over 8k HP. Had melded nothing but VIT. It was absurd.
