I cannot find the source at the moment however they did not suggest it, they specifically state the Au Ra have no relation to the Dravanian Horde. I will find the source though.

it is speculated that elves and hyurs share the same ancestors due to slightly similar names. Certainly alot more similar to each other than any of the other races

One of the ancestors of the elves are high elves who knows what came before that or after before it became hyurs and elves.

Well this is thought provoking... What if all races are descendant of the Dragons...?

Erik implies that Midgardsormr was the first being of this world - he and water arriving on Hydaelyn simultaneously. Midgardsormr bore the species of Dragons, and, as we recently learned from the Blue Dragon Triple Triad card, they "evolve" at an extremely rapid pace.

So, if the Au Ra can be traced back to Midgardsormr, and Elezen/Hyurians traced to them, would it not be possible that dragons or Auri of other regions evolved...differently, as demanded by their environment?

I don't actually believe this is the case, but the writers could make it work if at some point down the road they want to give everyone a "WTF" moment (and make Haldrath turn in his grave).

The Meracydians descended from Bahamut (the real one), who was one of seven children sired by Midgardsormr. It's generally accepted now that some of Midgie's babies spread throughout Hydaelyn and birthed their own hordes. How many hordes there are at this point, we can't definitively say, but two of his seven are in Eorzea and at least one is long dead.

One of the Domans (I think Higiri) said there was a land of dragons somewhere near her homeland, though she never saw one herself.
