Considering you don't need the highest ilvl gear to clear the highest ilvl content, this entire issue is moot. You can effectively play all the jobs in the hardest content by gearing the job in the previous hardest content that has already had it's gear limit removed. I realize people are on a gear treadmill and think they must have the highest ilvl, but all that does is make content easier. It doesn't mean you can't do the content with a lower ilvl.

Not a matter of being needed as much as it is people want to have highest ilevel, it's a matter of choice.

Well, I play everyday, and spam everything I'm experienced at. When PF asks for iLv110 for Titan Ex, then your statement becomes null. iLv is demanded for farms and phase pushing, which is all everyone does/expect now. No one really do normal mechanics these days. We're talking 1 tank, 1 heal, 6 dps in some cases, so they want that iLv high.

Yes, you CAN do it with minimum iLv, but if my NIN is iLv123 but only WHM slot open, she's not getting in due to her iLv being less than iLv110.

There is not a single lockout preventing you from getting i110, endgame is currently i130.
