I say my hello as we zone in, healer casts protect and gladiator pulls Ifrit. I cast Fire twice and Ifrit immediately pulls off the Glad and turns on us. I stop DpSing and start trying to figure out what the Gladiator was doing wrong, because I figure: "newbie tank, mistakes happen, teach them what they need to do so it doesn't happen again." I switch to the Battle log and start watching it, and I see everyone else doing the expected stuff but the Gladiator is only auto attacking with occasional Fast Blades. I tell them to use the Fast Blade -> Savage Blade combo. Me being distracted by enmity issues and trying not to steal Ifrit off the tank misses that the nail has dropped and it detonates.

Gladiator tells us to focus on the Nail and I apologize saying that I was focused on not stealing agro. Other party members agree with me. We reattempt, have not enmity problems, clear the nail this time and finish the fight. I give my commendation to the healer wait till everyone exits their cutscenes and then zone out. I come out with two commendations.

Running castrum, all of us but the main tank are standing by the lined up cannons while he goes and gets colossus. He types in chat "are yall ready?" and proceeds to bring the entire group of colossi to us.

It wiped us but it was hilarious and we all got a good laugh out of it.

I just had a WoD run where none of the bards sang. When pointed out that they weren't doing their job, one pointed out that they did - when asked. After that they went on complaining about how the healers don't do their job of resurrecting them (after their umpteenth death, and because the raise didn't come instantly).

    /facepalm

good while back when LoTA was a thing, went in as a tank only in hoplite gear and a base relic. enjoyed tanking at the time, got to behemoth and i wanted to tank, cue other party that argued that their tank was better geared and should tank, he tanks it to my dismay. we get to the last boss same tank says he will take it again i switch from shield to sword oath and then some how overtake the other tank who was in allagan gear and zenith relic in hate without provoke, i was laughing pretty well at that time until the same butt hurt tank wiped the entire raid on ancient flare.

When doing a Zodiak dungeon with i90 geared group we get to last boss healers says Sec,Sec so i wait but do a ready check and he gets angry because i initiated one. This made me pissed so When they finally are ready and say 'Go tank' i said no isn't there a better way to say i am ready. Blackmage pulls and I just sat there and drank coffee. Theres allot more amusing things that have happened but this was the most recent

I did try to get the last boss down with the group (even tried Sword Oath) but the damage was far far too low, the fight took too long each attempt so 5 wipes later I left.

I recently entered a Hullbreaker in one of my many attempts to get the Kraken Blood for the Zodiac weapon. Tank is in full-on Dreadwyrm. Healer has every slot filled with a fully melded i110 crafted piece. The two DPS were BLM's, myself and the other guy. Tank does the first pull, grabbing everything you can't avoid on the way up the hill, stopping halfway up before the boathull bridge. For some reason, the healer is unable to keep up with the healing. The other BLM and I are just waiting for the tank to get stuff into position, but we see his HP dropping and neither of us cast a single spell. Tank dies, healer dies. The other BLM and I just stare at each other, dumbfounded while the tank blames us for the wipe (huh?). Neither of us says anything because we're too flabbergasted to even respond. Tank pulls the same stunt. This time his health isn't dropping as fast so we BLM's do our thing and start AoEing. Sure enough, tank dies, healer dies, we all wipe. First thing tank says... "You have to kill the Sifaka's first." Wat? I say "Maybe we could take it a little slower? Both you and the healer seem to be getting overwhelmed with that pull." A vote-abandon is initiated... and passes. @_@ I have no words.

LoL Teslo i tried that too the 1st time i did HullBreaker Isle, after i was better geared on Zodiak.I was the only one who died( thank god) Good healer. I noticed afterwards the 1st pull is gated, its faster just to kill the 1st group then pull them all, skipping the 2nd group, even then the final sting from the bees is fast track towards tanks dropping like sack of ****. Shame your tank was stubborn.

Also adding to your comments on Castrum Meridianum Smitty, yes many groups seem to not remember how to run that dungeon, they leave their brains before entering maybe. The amount of times DD do not stay on cannons when tanks are pulling adds back, too many times to count. also had what you said happen and it does make me LMFAO every time.

Expert Roulette solo and I was qued with 3 Lalafells, one of which was named Peanut Butter. He begged and pleaded for me to not eat him, and his friends kept kneeling lol. After we finished the last boss he spammed a bunch of macros (one, impressively, of a giant peanut butter can) and thanked me for not consuming him. I didn't say one word, I only did /doubt the entire time. Lol

I'm pretty patient as far as tanks go. I've held a lot of hands in my time, and helped newbie groups through to the end of many a dungeon. To date, there's only been one time that I've been tempted to vote abandon on a run.

The dungeon was Wanderer's Palace. I was on PLD, and had queue'd up with my sister on BRD. Duty Finder matched us with a WHM and a BLM. Right off the bat, things were a bit odd; the WHM was consistently the one to initiate pulls, which he would do by running off and casting Stone II on mobs as we approached them. Questionable, to be sure, but I wasn't the sort to go on some power trip by letting him die when I could have saved him, and it was easy enough for me to collect the mobs after he pulled them and tank them myself.

Pretty soon, though, we identified a disturbing pattern to the WHM's playstyle. After a pull, he would continuously cast Stone II until I was at about half health. At that point, he'd switch over to Cure III, and cast that on me until he was out of MP (this usually did not take very long). From then until the rest of the fight, there would be no curing at all.

After barely surviving a couple of pulls, we tried talking to the WHM, letting him know that Cure was much more MP efficient, and that Cure III should only be used when healing multiple people at once. He did not answer (and, in fact, was off pulling the next group of mobs), so after barely surviving the next pull, we attempted again, using Auto-translate phrases. Again no response or change in behavior.

Needless to say, by the time we reached the first boss, the Goobue, it was the first time that I'd ever been nervous about stepping into the ring with it since I'd faced it for the first time, fresh to 50. Sure enough, the WHM behaved just as before: Stone II until I was halfway dead, then Cure III until out of MP. The BLM tried to keep me alive but the boss eventually managed to take me down even so. The BLM was next to die, and my sister managed to kite the thing around on BRD. All the while, the WHM was waiting until he had enough MP to cast Stone II, casting it, then going back to waiting. We begged and pleaded with him to cast Raise, both in English and in Auto-translate - and, miracle of miracles, he actually DID, eventually. I managed to get up and recover enough to resume tanking. I died again, but it was enough to bring the Goobue down.

By that point it was pretty clear that the rest of the dungeon was going to be a nightmare. We'd tried to help the guy out, but he just wasn't listening. I was finally ready to vote abandon for the first time ever - when just like in a cheesy movie where the bad guy gets killed by someone else so the hero doesn't have to dirty his hands, the BLM voted abandon for me.
