They already did somes things about it.
Atma drop rate enhanced
Cost of books lowered
Alexandrite drop enhanced
Nexus Light doubled

Also cost of alexandrite map lowered and rewards of soldiery tomes increased.

I doubt that there will be more drastic changes before 3.0. Maybe small changes.
With 3.0 (or 3.1?) a new weapon quest start where people can jump in without a Zeta weapon, while people with a Zeta weapon get an advantage in the next weapon quest.

Questions is do you guys think they will ever change the requirements for this? Like halving the books, or adding in an option to skip the manual upgrade points for animus like get a premade one?

Maybe a single book, but the tasks in it increased by 9
