New Gear

I haven't seen much discussion of the new gear in the game (via new dungeons). Any must have pieces? What are the best pieces? Overall, how useful is the new gear? Any really nice eye-candy?

I think they're pretty good! The Alpine War Jacket and the Solid Scale Mail are totally hot. There's a list of all the pieces with their stats here.

A lot of the items are copy and paste...look same as other in game items or CS items but then again that's what SE is known for copy and paste mobs, areas, armor, etc...lazy to come up with totally new ideas...and most of all copy other MMOs and still FAIL! Most gear in dungeon has better stats. They shouldn't have made everything rare/ex. Templar's Falchion looks like Toothed Falchion, Solid Scale Mail is Kokoroon's Darkshell Mail, and so on...Mitts of the Lone Knight look like I am getting something out of the oven (Cooking Mitts). SE is slacking big time as far as new content...instead they give you stupid updates where you can hide your weapon and head piece...LMFAO Next thing I know I will be naked during battles...STUPIDEST UPDATES! Not to mention the great update on the most retarded most blinding party effects for LIGHT PARTY, FULL PARTY! What I can't see on the side that I have 8 or 7 members...plus it says it on the SIDE! STUPID! Quit adding stupid shit your just congesting the game. I love the stacking of new load zones on the wards, great job SE! FFXI was better with that and it was working with shitty graphic engines. There is still a lot more to complain about...I hope they FIX! People will start ranting though, "well why do you still play?" its free...plus forums are way to express to SE what we want seen improved in the game.

Solid Scale Mail is good. But most of the stuff isn't worth the effort because the +1s are already similar or batter.
Sadly.

Looks are also a little bit of disappointing imo.

with everyone rank 50 trying to get the same gear(2items) id rather just keep my old stuff so i look different.

Alpine War Jacket would look cooler if you didn't see it on every other character running through uldah. I really hated it when WoW decided to start copy and pasting gear models with recolors. I hope SE wises up =\
