Tbh I play kitty because they had the best emotes imo.
I went through a period of time where I fantasia'd into (almost) every race and played around doing my endgame things as each race.
(Given my character's name all were female)
Roes were gorgeous but I couldn't get over the terrible emotes (half of them are super cringe-worthy).
Human midlanders were nice but fairly boring and a little too "flimsy" feeling for what I liked, highlanders I did not try, I don't like their aesthetic.
I'm gonna try au ra in expac but I'm also worried that they'll also have that same "dainty" feeling I got from midlanders.
Lalas were cute/adorable/etc and my sch glamor had the fat chocobo head and the augmented crafted i90 chest in the same yellow and it was hilarious, but then my regular glamors were depressing because they were so small (I wore normal armor/clothing glamors, none of the half naked/panty glamors you would typically see on catgirls).
Elves required the most work in the character creator to look good, once you get it right there's a perfect serene quality to them. However awkward movement animations + main-ing a melee + some less preferable emotes made me switch out fairly quickly. Not impossible and I didn't completely dislike it, just not my cup of tea.
Came back to catgirl, no regrets. My alt is lala, if I were to be crazy enough to make another alt it would be roe or elf.
You're in denial. There's a whole industry called the imekura, and it doesn't exist only in Japan, it exists under other names all over the world. It's no different to people who find particular hairstyles sexy, who find particular body shape sexy, particular proportions, particular eye color, particular pitch of voice, particular type of dress, tights, glasses, pony tails, whatever. So to pick miquote on the basis that you find it sexually appealing, is just wrong. Really it is.
I strongly believe players choosing miquote is more of an ego trip. They see Miquote and thing to themselves "oh thats sexy, i want others to see my character and think "sexy"". Which would explain why many male miquote tanks that choose a dark themed glamour/dye are so full of themselves and often jerks.
You're denying it because you don't like it, and labeling it "wrong" makes you feel better. Just like how people say homosexuality is "wrong". :3
“There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.”
― Ernest Hemingway
Not a chance. Any alterations of movement rates in game would give those races that move faster an advantage in PvE content. If nothing else, getting out of AoEs would be easier for them.
I would have but several friends of mine are highlander and I just can't get over it. I've seen enough of their emotes to know I won't like it at all.
I'm pretty sure they're similar to elven women and just require some extra time in the creator to make look good but eh.
Until I can confirm how the AuRa look/play it's catgirl4lyfe for me. So far it's looking like they're close to midlanders based on the teasers they gave us so we'll see.
I did the same thing. I tried every race just to see if anything "fit" better than my 1.0 original version. But the thing is, played my original version so much, it is the only version that feels right.
Playing Lala was my second favorite. The emotes are so much fun! And running around at what feels like super speed always made me smile.
Next would be midlanders. It took some time in character creator to make a midlander that I felt was interesting and cute. I played her about a month before I gave into missing my tail.
I think other people playing Elezan are gorgeous but I just could not make one that fit me at all. Just never felt right.
I played a Femroe for about a week. They are so charming but being huge didn't suit me.
After spending all that money on fantasia, I came to a realization... Nothing will ever be "me" unless its the 1.0 original. Not even going to try au ra.
Well, if we count the "most I seen", I can say that most characters I see around Revenant's Toll are Hyur. Female, BTW
