That's just what most of us are assuming. If they're not planning on removing the loot restriction from Coil, then that at least gives them a reason to keep the poetic cap in place.

This right here. With the expansion coming in a few months, having Poetics still capped while you can farm for loot in WoD and Final Coil just feels redundant.

nope, makes sense to me if you want all 130's go farm coil thats what its there for if they removed poetics cap for 3 whole months without a single thing left to do in the game they are asking for people to unsub till xpac en masse. makes no difference to me though i havent capped poes in more than 6 weeks, i assume all of you crying for easy gear havent stepped foot into fcob and therefore i have no sympathy for you.

What do you mean?

One of the common fears with an expansion is immediate obsolesence. To put this in XIV terms, that you hit 51, do a level 51 quest... and get handed a piece of i140 gear as a reward.

The devs have stated that won't be the case in Heavensward. Eventually you will be replacing your i130 gear, but "not for a while"; so having i130 gear earned now will still grant you advantages moving into Heavensward.

You couldn't be more wrong about me if you tried. I run coil whenever I can and I get my fair share of experience.

Except that some of the "easy gear" is BiS because of crappy stat distribution on some of the coil pieces.

We never had an upcoming expansion before either. Does it make sense to have unlimited wod and fcob loot but not poetics? Not really. I think SE is giving people the chance to get all their characters to 130 in the 3 month wait before the gear becomes obsolete in 3.0. It will give you a head start on leveling up too with some higher then average ilvl gear because they said lv51 gear wouldn't be 135

Usually once it's in DF there is no weekly lockout anymore.

Hehe I like that I've been saying this for a while now. Simply going off that it's final fantasy thus story focused. And it was confirmed that you need the main story to keep going with it and if you look at the requirements for that i90 is atm what's needed for it. Nice that the gear is confirmed as well.

When the new replacement form of tomestones come into play the old poetics cap will be raised to 2000 most likely but the cap will not be removed or increase until the replacement for it is added to the game, until that time it will remain capped at 450. The soldiery tomes will be handled like myth tomes were handled in that they will be convertible into poetics and the soldiery gear will then be added to dungeons drops like myth gear was. The new tomes which replace poetics will be capped probably around 500 or so like poetics currently are.

How is WoD loot equal to having no tomestone cap?

WoD gear is only 120, and while some jobs can find parts that are BiS until later in Final Coil, most of the gear is much better as 130 versions, which you can get with Poetic gear.

WoD also doesn't have any accessories.

EDIT: Also, the expansion is close, but still over 3 months away, what are we supposed to do while waiting for that if we can just gear up all jobs in a couple of days?
