Protect us all from the mean kitty cats!Well, uh... I see a lot of cat people wherever I go... followed by Lalafells, but I love lalas, they are adorable. I would hug all the lalas in the universe. As for the cat people, I've heard people saying that they always wanted to have a tail irl... I'm not implying it's the only reason but that was the one that made me wonder so many things about it. As a true warrior race (highlander, the FF saiyans), I'll squish the cat people with my bare hands if they ever want to be "cute" in front of me. Thankfully the population of cat people will get reduced when the dragon people get introduced... as far I can read in this thread.
...yeah, I don't get the point of this thread either. 16 pages (and apparently growing?) pretty much about people practically just bashing Miqo'te (and/or the players who chose that race)? Someone perhaps insulted OP in-game based on the race they picked for their character, and they felt they needed to "explain" themselves? It (apparently) didn't help anything, only created an opportunity to be mean. And don't get me wrong, I get the joke part of things, that's all fine. But there's a solid line between joking about it and just plain being "racist". There was that other thread with in-game stereotypes? A lot of those were race-based, and even though a lot of them were actually negative in meaning, I couldn't help but laugh at them, because they were obviously not intended to make people feel bad/hurt. Unlike most of the things here. Okay, fine, we get it: you don't like Miqo'te. But, as was pointed out, nobody's holding a gun to your head to make you stare at them non-stop. Move on.
Um, let's not go into how women becoming strong and dominant is (should be) perfectly alright, but men becoming any sort of effeminate is just a big no-no. Let's not go into how if you put more weight on the lighter side of a scale, it will potentially outweigh the heavier side and tip the scale over, eventually. Also let's not go into how the Eastern and Western cultures are actually different (what a surprise) - the high-pitched, "schoolgirlish" female voice in Japan is, for example, actually desired, because that has become considered normal and elegant throughout history. In the Western world, it simply is annoying for many. That doesn't mean it shouldn't be accepted though, especially in a game that's made by Japanese (and probably, primarily, for a Japanese audience).Gone are the days of manly men and dominant, strong women as aspirations for our youth... No, no. It's all about the effeminate young men and grown women pretending way too hard to be school girlish.
Thanks, anime. You've really ruined the Western world's perceptions of idealistic people even worse than Hollywood!
In any case. Someone please close this thread. It serves no purpose and is just grade 3 topsoil for a negative atmosphere.
I thought about saying that too, (You put a better spin on it though. :P) but I figure the MOD's will get around to locking it/deleting it at some point anyway. Threads like this generally don't last, unless the MOD's go not noticing threads like this for... quite some time. (In which case, contacting them about it makes it go faster sometimes)
In the meantime, all we can do is watch the thread burn while eating popcorn.
I've been waiting for a demon/succubus type race since 1.0 haha. Usually that is the race I prefer to play, so..I was ecstatic when Yoshida said that with Au'ra we could make one^^
So yea, one less cat girl running around lol
As for the races now..I think all of them can look really nice, depending. ^^
Um... What's wrong with feminine-like men? What's it even matter? People should be whatever they are most comfortable being.
Player
Will we be able to change races yet keep our character?

Miqote doesnt have an ass though. And are way uglier than Mithra. If they looked like Mithra did in ffxi they would be the best hands down
