    The real question is whether or not it will affect HoTs too. Would give a useful stat for WHM to focus on like SCH has with Crit

    The Japanese simply says that overall DoT damage will increase, so I'm wondering how Speed will actually affect it; will it be more ticks or will it simply increase damage per tick like a second Determination...

    That would make it too strong for WHM, as spell speed is already a great stat for WHM and already the top priority stat for many WHM players. Not that it would really matter, cuz stats are not that big a deal for healers.

    Have you played SCH? Crit is an AMAZING stat since your entire toolset is based on shield strength being doubled when critical heals occur. My point is to make it so WHM has a stat that benefits its toolset as a HoT healer as much as a SCH benefits from Crit being a shield healer.

    What he is saying is, you never rely on a heal critting. It's just good when it does for a SCH.

    And it would be good for WHM if Regen ticked 1 or 2 more times each cycle being an HoT-based job. What I'm saying is for there to be a stat that has an equal magnitude benefit for WHM as Crit has for SCH. Having more HoT ticks per cast means A) more efficient use of the HoT and B) mana saved overall, something that is vital to WHM given it's the only DoM job in FFXIV without an efficient MP-recovery tool. Now if Shroud was changed to scale according to max MP then I will agree that having Spell Speed affect HoT ticks might be a little much, but as of now WHM is the most restrictive DoM job in terms of GCD managment and MP constraints. It needs help from somewhere now that we know AST can fill either the WHM or SCH role depending on stance and remain more versatile than WHM is currently.
