Blame Squeenix for why we all play as Miqo'te

Out of the four races the Miqo'te is the only one most people will bother with.

In a fantasy world picking the human type race is boring.
In a fantasy world full of beauty the Hulk type race with its colossal arms is ugly.
In the real world - Men in western society are desperate not to be mistaken for a pedophile so lalafel is out of the question.
In the real world there are many cat lovers. In FF14 the Miqo'te look good as so many different classes. They have so many different personalities. How could you pick anything else?



It seems to me that Squeenix wanted everyone to pick Miqo'te. Point the finger at them not us.

Don't hate the player, hate the developer.

Edit: I totally forgot that there are Elves in this game. They are a rarer sight that my level 30 White Mage's Unicorn!

To be fair, it's the most "fantastical" option we have. Elezen? It's like a Midlander fell into a taffy puller. Roegadyn? It's like a Highlander overdid it at the gym. Yeah they have a wider variation of skin colors than Hyur do, but so do Miqo'te. The choices we're given for races are all just pretty tame when you get down to it. If we had a truly bestial looking option (I played a Worgen on WoW for awhile, for example) then I'd probably be that, but this game doesn't offer anything that far out there. As such, I picked what I liked of what we have. *shrug*

Oh right, Lalafell. Well, I guess someone's gotta be the football.
