Nah, that decrease in Determination was a rounding error on my behalf with how my spreadsheets used to calculate DoT clipping (Doesn't do this anymore). The reason why SS is so bad on Summoners is because it increases your Actions Per Minute (Which is a good thing for a BLM!) but as a Summoner is a DoT class, each point of SS gained gives you an ever increasing chance of clipping your DoTs. As DoTs are absolutely random in this game, clipping a DoT at 1.5s nets you a 50% chance of clipping a DoT tick, which could've been used on another action instead (If that makes sense).

I take an head slot for example, it's 14 Det versus 20 Crit. Even if the value of Det is higher than Crit, quantity wins in this scenario.

Absolutely correct! Because of how Item Budgets work, CRT on items nearly always nets a greater STR/DEX/INT gain overall, than items which have Determination.

So i dont know if it is just me but if i do blizz3>T1 I always have to do blizz 1 because i dont get the tick.. so i just go ahead and blizz3>blizz1>t1 lets me continue my cast into astral fire without waiting.. also timed nice to transpose after the T1 if firestarter proc and gives me the mana tick like 2secs after transpose. But i dont have a parser so could not say if is a good way.. but if someone could try blizz3>blizz1>t1 after astral fire and parse that and compare would be great

That's odd. I get a full stack of astral ice the moment I finish my cast, since it doesn't have any travel time. Anyway, you should cast TI after BlizIII from what I gather.

Does anyone have a 2.5 BiS list by the way? I'm kinda struggling with the order I should buy gear in. Compared to WoW, the theory crafting community is really small, I noticed

It's based on the server, it can be anywhere from 0s - roughly 3s after the cast.

T1 > B1 is better than B1 > T1 because you still have that chance at being able to skip B1, and because it's putting on the DoT sooner. Basically the only time you'd wanna do B1 > T1 is if you dipped too low in your MP pool accidentally (or on purpose in some cases, there are times occasionally when you really gotta burn an add and need that final Fire), or if you had a recent Thundercloud late in your AH3 phase (in which case sometimes B1 > B1 is the best choice, oddly enough, though that basically requires a Thundercloud right before B3).

Me, I just do T2 and adjust on if I got the tick early within .5 seconds of starting T2's cast, so I can skip the filler. If you don't wanna mess around with that or have latency just stick with T1 > B1. However, if you have a super heavy SS set you probably want to do T2 anyway IMO with current gear, when you're under Selene's SS buff T1 > B1 can be way too fast (under 4s when you can need upwards of 5s+ to get 2 ticks) and really easily skip the second tick, making you wait anyway or do a forsaken 3rd UI3 cast.

Are you a Seeker of the Sun? If that's the case you don't have enough base Piety to open with Blizzard III. You also need a Scholar in your party other you can't open with Blizzard III. Well you can but there's good chances you'll miss mana for the Flare. Black Mage is an unfair job that advantages Dunefolk Lalafells and Keeper of the Moon Miqo'tes. The only way with base 20 piety to get it is to time your cast so you get an UI3 Mana tick after T1.

If you do want to try it with your current race which I see is Seeker of the Sun without a Scholar in your group. Buy 2 Hymns and respect to emulate Keeper of the Moon Miqo'tes Piety + Scholar buff. Put 2 Piety for the race Piety difference and add 7 Piety to emulate Scholar buff and you should be able to test it no problem. The second Hymn is to respec your stats back.

Oh! D: I misread that then. Yeah, I do sometimes miss the mana tick when I T1 > B1. It's really rare unless I have an absurd amount of Spell Speed like 680 something :3

Poking on that subject with 680~ spell speed I've been doing T2 > B1 on late mana ticks with Fey Glow, then swapping back to T1 when it's down.
