I've never played Triple Triad except in this one, but I seem to have trouble getting the plus rule to work sometimes. Every time I think I've got it all stacked up right, I don't seem to get it. It's odd.

I like both versions, the original version is more challenging (AIs are much smarter iirc) and has a wider variety of card and its uses. I don't know how many cards in total are there in FF14 compare to the original however.
For FF14 version, you can play and relax without having to worry about losing cards whatsoever (although original lets you reset game if you lost them unintended) but one thing about this version is I find it's a little bit unfair when challenging NPCs because we are only allowed to use only one 2/3/4/5 star cards in our deck (even in random) while they get to use all their OP cards, you can't beat them easily unless they have Swap/reverse/plus rules with them or that they dumb out by placing a card but never flipped any of yours where you can take advantage.

Triple triad is awesome but some rules should be changed!
Chaos regional rules when playing 1v1 is terrible!. i can't choose which card i'm going to use in my next move (maybe this is doing to limit player boosting with external macro).
I defeated 30 NPCs and i got my Squall ***** card (1 6 A A), (achievement "triple team II") and i can't use it while using another 2 * or 5* (bahamut card) in my deck!! This is pointless. i can't even use 2 ** stars in same deck!!
I know that maybe this is done to prevent lucky ppl that got good cards in few hours to become "super player" that defeat npcs and start build their deck faster, but this is a bad rule!!!!
Now i have 27 cards and each time i buy a silver/bronze card from GS i get a card that i already own!!! That is wasting my MGP considering that i can sell them back for only 5-10 MGP.
There should also be a "trade" or "sell on market" options to get money from other ppl.
#disappointed!

Haven't played a whole lot yet but I'm totally digging this. Also, found this legendary card!

I wouldn't mind the random rule as much... but only if the NPC's actually had decks which consisted of more than just rare cards!
NPC's don't play by the same rules we do. They have fewer than 30 cards and yet can use as many rares as they please, but this also means that the 'random' rule forces you to use 1-star weaklings versus their 3-star and higher behemoths. There's very little variation between the cards they use each match, so the random rule only adversely affects the player rather than the opponent.
This is something which needs some major tweaking in my opinion. At the very least I'd like them to play by the same rules as everyone else.
It'd be a great card... until you play that one guy who uses Fallen Ace![]()
Quit being dicks square. If I have random so should the NPC. EOS
You could lose it, but also win it back. Since it was singleplayer and you could save, this was no big problem from the start, of course.FF8 Triple Triad or FF14 Triple Triad?
I'm not sure yet. I like that there are more rules in the new version but ti doesn't seem as risky as the old version. You could lose your good cards in that one. Perhaps I just haven't played enough yet.
I really like that they kept the same music but I was expecting a new special effects or something to be honest. Almost feels like a copy-paste job.
Off-topic question: How do you make a poll on this forum? I can't find the option.
I would play fallen ace against that. ;3 - Maybe make it S S S S. Or R R R R for "Roundhousekick"! ô_ôHaven't played a whole lot yet but I'm totally digging this. Also, found this legendary card!

This will change, when you have 30 cards (then as many ** cards as you like) and 60 (as many *** cards as you like). Yes, it's a bit strange and it's a lot harder to break this 60 cards wall, but I think it is part of their long term goal/challenge, to reach this. Try to enjoy it (okay, the RNG with card drops can suck pretty bad), but when you have reached these 60 cards, a lot of the fun will be gone, as it is.I defeated 30 NPCs and i got my Squall ***** card (1 6 A A), (achievement "triple team II") and i can't use it while using another 2 * or 5* (bahamut card) in my deck!! An important point of FF8 was, that the cards got a use. You could transform them. Sure, you can sell them here, but the MGP you get for them are a joke.

One other solution other than adding cards to NPCs is that you should pick your 10 cards that Random can select from, so you can at least stand a chance. Random does suck, but it is there to be challenging. I have beat all NPCs, but those Random users are the hardest, then Chaos, which would also ruin any planning you had going.

So much whining for something that isn't hard at all.
I beat rowena multiple times with 1 star deck and got louisoix card after a while
I beat Landenel multiple times with a 3 star deck and got both Titan and Odin (rather quickly)
But Swift and his stupid Chaos rule oh god. Every time I need my 5 star card right away, its the one card that either doesn't come up (when going second) or comes last when its too late.
