Yea only its not that cool when you play on a legacy server and almost everyone has one so you don't feel the need to show it off. There are some armor pieces that actually show it off. And a lot of people who have it specifically choose glamours that show it off. There are a LOT of female outfits that show it off.
On my main, i wear the hempen camise glamoured over my chest piece on my BLM and SMN outfit that would totally show it off...
Except this isn't about giving ARR players Legacy bonuses, this is about how people seem to be expecting Heavensward to be replacing ARR in the same way ARR replaced 1.0, and thus to be treated as 'special' because you happen to be playing at the time the expansion launches. It's not. Heavensward is simply an expansion pack, which just continues on and extends the current storyline and adds some new areas - everything currently available in the game will continue to be available once 3.0 launches. This is completely different to 1.0, which was completely shut down and it's players transferred into ARR which completely replaced it. ARR is a whole different game from 1.0. Heavensward is just an addition to ARR. It's as simple as that.Everyone knows that the suggestion isn't to give everyone a Legacy mark going into Heavensward, right?
Don't worry, you guys will all still be super cool Legacy players with exclusive tattoos when everyone else gets something to acknowledge how long they've been around, too.
So the Legacy mark was specifically to identify those of us who began their journeys in 1.0, as a kind of memorial to the now gone original game. No such distinction is needed with Heavensward.
I don't have my brand, as I made a new version of myself when 2.0 started and just stuck with it, but curiously enough, I have my Legacy Chocobo. And use it all the time as it makes me the prettiest snowflake of all!
^The Legacy Email
^The campaign itself
My wife has legacy, I don't, but I'm not sour about it, nor do I want her benefits downgraded just because a few people don't think that the legacy players deserve what they have.
She told me how during beta that there were people that made threads, that were angry that legacy players got instant access into the CBT of ARR, or that they should be stripped of their legacy altogether because "They're ahead of other players for having their data kept and get benefits."
These players were around long before you even heard of ARR, heck FFXIV didn't even get as much attention, I think those that stuck with 1.0 should be able to have their benefits and extras, if you weren't there to reap the benefits like they were, then I say tough luck to that.
ARR isn't shutting down like 1.0 was and it's getting an expansion, an expansion =/= special benefits for sticking with a THRIVING game that isn't dying.
Was never done with an expansion.
Maybe if SE shut down the servers to rebuild the complete game again to make a tradition of it?
I fixed it a bit.
The tattoo itself have nothing to do with a Legacy account. It only show "this character was created during the old XIV", recardless of played from launch until the shut down or only the first month after launch. It is character bounded, not account bounded.

The legacy mark is a symbol of that's person's idiocy of paying and continuing to play a terrible game.
ARR is not a terrible game therefore no mark. To show off how long you've been playing, just use veteran rewards.
Paying was not a requirement for the tattoo, only to create a character ^^
Incorrect I am sorry.
A minimum payment period that did not have to be consecutive was the requirement to achieve Legacy status.
(Which was only 3 months worth of subscription during the campaign period...so not much at all!)
The point after all was to say 'thank you!' to the people supporting them in the way they reaalllllly needed, Munny! ^_^

You're right about the campaign, but wrong about the tattoo.Incorrect I am sorry.

The tattoo had nothing to do with legacy status though. The tattoo was placed on every character that was created in 1.0. Hell, I even have it and I stopped playing when ARR was announced.
