Telling people to transfer servers if they want a house is essentially telling people to give SE a cash incentive not to fix the problem it is responsible for.

Except, to the extent that housing availability acts as an incentive for people to spread out to the underpopulated servers, SE is probably fine with it or even set it up that way intentionally.
If SE wanted to drain players from large servers they would use free transfers like every other big MMO.
That is only true if there is enough housing available to provide a home for every single player at the target population level SE is aiming for on a server.Except, to the extent that housing availability acts as an incentive for people to spread out to the underpopulated servers, SE is probably fine with it or even set it up that way intentionally.
Is there? Otherwise the problem persist no matter how balanced the server populations become, and the fault rests with the developers for not providing either enough homes or enough servers.
