I pronounce it, "Lev E" Using a short E on the first on, then a long E on the second one. I just pronounce it how it's spelled.

Although, you would think that I would pronounce it as Leave since, to be grammatically correct, I would. But it just seems to be more right pronouncing it how I do, since Leavequests wouldn't make much sense.

The angels dance like feathers float, they're here to see and to be seen,
The clock strikes two, the music slows and each one slowly dons their wings,
Once outside they all pair off and hand in hand they leave
But I'm still waiting, yeah, and I'm still waiting

    Dictionary.com says...

    Leve
Leve\, v. t. [OE. leven, AS. l[=e]fan, l[=y]fan. See Leave permission.] To grant; -- used esp. in exclamations or prayers followed by a dependent clause. [Obs.]

This is a word used in old English frequently seen in such works as Canterbury Tales. My resident editor and Chaucer expert says that in the aforementioned work Leve is pronounced "Lehv" most commonly, though there are some grammatical structures involving pauses after the word and using it at the end of a sentence that make the word pronounced "Lehv-eh." So, I picked up a Guild Lehv today. Or, Today, I picked up a Guild Lehveh.

Edit: Maybe our localization experts could chime in - if they would dare to venture into boards dominated by the cult of Bay or Ru...

This. Unless it's really awkward, I usually go with the official katakana pronunciation.

Funny thing is I say it verbally both ways, but when I'm typing "leve" I say it in my mind "lev".
But when I type the plural "leves", which is most of the time, I say it in my mind "leaves"

Always stumble verbally between "leave" and "lehv", and always accidently type "level"...I've given up and just call them guild quests.

The Japanese translation seems to agree with the English word. t's pronounced "Leave." From FreeDictionary.com:

    Leve
    (lēv)
    a. 1. Dear. See Lief.
    n. & v. 1. Same as 3d & 4th Leave.
    v. i. 1. To live.
    v. t. 1. To believe.
    1. To grant; - used esp. in exclamations or prayers followed by a dependent clause.
    God leve all be well.
    - Chaucer.
There's also a word pronounced "LEV-ē," but that word is spelled "levee" or "levy."

    It is pronounced like leave.

As Vydarr posted, a leve is a grant. This is a granted quest or mission you have been given.

A levee is a river embankment.
