Faux content. People should be able to do what they want when they want. If it's not ready, stagger it, but don't stagger it to give everyone "even ground". By that logic, nobody should be able to play longer than the player who has the least amount of time to devote.
Perhaps there is a player base out there that enjoys the competition of completing things when they are released before other people due to the fact that after it's completed it's on farm and the only thing we're left with is speed kills or farming for months until the next patch. The fact that you're being so rude indicates to me that you've obviously been triggered about something he said. There isn't anything wrong with his priorities. Perhaps it's time to check yours.
The purpose of what exactly? I feel like you tried to answer a question that wasn't even asked. Pls, there is no need to get so instantly triggered that you type a response that makes no impact on the OP's post. Unless you failed at getting your actual point across which in that case, please halp. Also, I don't really understand your issue with people having "nolife" when the expansion comes out. Believe it or not, this game is some peoples favorite hobby. People take time off work to do things because it's what they enjoy. I guess if you're mad because you don't feel the same way or there isn't reason enough for you to do the same than that's too bad but again, no need to be triggered :/
Sometimes I wish you guys would read. Can you please tell me where the OP posted anything about giving "even ground"? He just asking the question so him and his static know how to approach the expansion. Pls try to understand the concept of the question before you jump to conclusions about what the OP is trying to get across. Thank you![]()
It was only half rude, and lets not kid ourselves here. The speed runs in the dungeons are going to happen regardless if they stagger this raid content or not. Dont wanna do it? Want to enjoy the dungeons? Gather up some FC members and do it. I never understood the mentality that everyone needs to be subjected to one's personal desires.Perhaps there is a player base out there that enjoys the competition of completing things when they are released before other people due to the fact that after it's completed it's on farm and the only thing we're left with is speed kills or farming for months until the next patch. Its most definitely about even ground... read his post that is further down...Sometimes I wish you guys would read. Can you please tell me where the OP posted anything about giving "even ground"? Though fairness is a factor, I'm curious not because I feel like I'll personally be at an advantage or disadvantage. I'd just rather have the liberty to approach the new content at leisure without having to worry about Alexander immediately, and I'm sure there are others who feel similarly.

You must not have read the third reply either because it starts off: "Sometimes I wish you guys would read". Perhaps you'll read it this time since it's in a reply to you. But honestly, read the reply you quoted and pls try to understand what I'm saying before you reply. It was only half rude, and lets not kid ourselves here. Oh I did read, I just wasnt done editing the post. You should take your own advice
As much as you and the rest of this forum is making this out to be for "even ground", knowing how the Alexander raid would be implemented would change things for some groups. The fact that the FCoB took less than one week to complete is evidence enough that SE doesn't know how to scale content to player skill. That being said, don't be surprised if there are groups that don't bother leveling a main job to 60 before going into Alexander to clear it.
But we already know how its going to be implemented, they have stated it numerous times. Two modes on launch Normal and HardAs much as you and the rest of this forum is making this out to be for "even ground", knowing how the Alexander raid would be implemented would change things for some groups. The fact that the FCoB took less than one week to complete is evidence enough that SE doesn't know how to scale content to player skill. This -- Just like the story line for all the coil raids, they required you to beat a lvl 50 story quest. You can bet on that ringing true for Alexander. It wouldn't change anything for those groups as the first thing they are going to go for is the raids. Staggering it does nothing to change this. As far as player skill, you are talking about 1% of 10% as far as that goes, there are TONS of people who havent and cant clear 11, 12, let alone 13.
Now we are talking hypothetically. Lets not do that. As it stands SE has not "staggered" any raid content in these last few years for ARR -- Why would they start now? So there is no need to have "knowledge of whether or not things will be staggered".Knowing whether or not a raid will be available immediately, for example, is nice for planning time off work.
Many hardcore groups do have people who take time off work to go at content.
That is just one scenario, btw.
There are other scenarios that benefit from knowledge of whether or not things will be staggered, beforehand.
As far as planning time off work, it works both ways. I'm sure people are already planning that time for when the expansion releases.
This ^Just had to add this. People need to drop this concept of a fair start. When the expansion comes out we all have the same unlocks to do and we all have the same story to do. Each persons personal progression is limited by nothing but themselves and their own free time. The suggestions made in this thread have nothing to do with a fair start since we get that already. This thread is really about forcing people to play at the same pace because some people don't want to feel left behind. That is the definition of a personal problem. Stop trying to force people to play at your pace. Keep your envy at bay.

The irony.
Devs may pretend World First isn't a thing, but it is. They want all players to enjoy the content, from casuals to top raiders. Yoshida already talked about how for example new BT dailies aren't coming out right away so that people don't feel spread too thin. This is coming partly from the same philosophy.
Furthermore never did I indicate that I'm actually in favor of this method, but sure, I guess that outburst of blind outrage was warranted eh?
