It's funny cause this article says the complete opposite

So I'll take it with a grain of salt untill we get an official confirmation one way or the other.

Ok so lets just keep taking ideas from other non Final Fantasy games and keep adding them to the game. Please tell me what FF game did you start at lvl 30? Could someone tell me if this is going to turn into a non Final Fantasy game in the future so I can quit early and start having a real life.

Well that's stupid.

Nuff said
Though for once, this article is sorta well written. And either way, who cares ? unless the jobs start at 50, serious people will have all the time needed to master the new jobs by the time they reach 60

I honestly don't understand what difference that would make..
You already can't start the game as a Rogue, even though when you pick up the class you start at level 1 what good is that? Do you really need a full level 1-15 experience to get the grasp of the class?
Dungeons don't start until level 15 anyhow so the way I see it, any class level 1-15 is redundant.
Did you really want to acquire the machinist job and spam 2 skills killing random mobs around to get to level 15 so you can start grinding Satasha again? There would also be issues with class -> job transition at level 30 since new jobs don't have a base class.

Levequests are the poor mans way of levelling though, its the worst and most boring way to level.
At least with sidequests you get to explore and go out and experience story elements which helps to reduce the monotony.
I argee that it seems pointless to move away from base classes to unlock new jobs but I guess they want to make it easier for new players to experience the expansion content, plus it also makes sense from a development point of view that you don't need to tune classes and jobs independently. Plus lets not forget how SCH and SMN are held back by the limitations of ACN.
I wouldn't be surprised to see them redeisgn the whole class/job system before long.

15 level is 3 guild quests (cutscenes and lore) + a level of Hunting log (reasons to explore the new areas) + whatever quests they can give you in that gap to talk to NPC and get a feel of how things work in that area, bits of lore of notable places, the relationship between the people who settled there and the envoirment... yeah I'd like it.Did you really want to acquire the machinist job and spam 2 skills killing random mobs around to get to level 15 so you can start grinding Satasha again?
As boring as it is, it's a very small time investment.
I took the polygon article as perhaps there where some wires crossed in the other interview. Perhaps it was meant that new jobs wont have classes that begin at level 1, and that was taken to mean the jobs wont either which makes a whole lot more sense.
tbh I wish they'd completely trash the class system and rewrite all the jobs from level 1. It would give them a lot more room to develop new jobs while giving more depth to the current ones while erasing this feeling that the class/job era has been some massive mistake whose remnants we will see in game for its entire lifespan.
And for the record, boosts (lvl1-???) are NEVER a good idea. Also WoW is a terrible model to use as an example in any case. Just because it once served 11 million players does not mean it was the pinnacle of perfection in game design.
