Death Knights started at a high level because it was originally supposed to be a "transformation" of your character. Your character of level 55 or higher would turn into the Death Knight. This idea got scrapped pretty early on (pre-technical alpha) because of how many people didn't want to lose their character to play the new class.

However, I don't personally see the new jobs starting at 30+ as a good idea. Sure, it's a little silly for EDGY THE DARKLORD to go fight lambs and ladybugs to level up, but at the same time, it's important to keep the lower level sections of the game active. You can see this on WoW now with the "pay for level 90 boost" that they added. Low level zones are utterly devoid of players (except for botters who don't care), and low level dungeons actually have significant queue times depending on your battlegroup.

Sad part is, I remember seeing a thing about SE talking about having a boost to 50 :/ Which would make no sense to even have that. It's not like it's hard to level. If you really try, you can get 1-50 in 2-3 days, even if you only do it a few hours a day, it'll still take less than a week.

If they did that, then look forward to having people 50+ who have no idea what they're doing...oh wait, we already have that lol

I really hope they never do. "Boost to 90" is what encouraged me to finally quit WoW. It would no doubt do the same to me here. What's the point in playing a game when the majority of it can be bypassed with money?

Exactly. I don't get why people play some mmos / games in general, to not play the game. Why even bother if they're just going to skip 90% of it?

Because most modern MMOs are focused on end game content, it only makes sense that many would want to just jump to the fun.

Very few people enjoy the levelling process, I'm just playing devils advocate here, not necessarily something I agree with.

MMO's are very different now to what they used to be and continuously changing to appease the masses.

    >_> Because apparently standing in one spot and queuing up for the same dungeon with the same mechanics and same pattern every time is fun? lol

Well it seems it is, otherwise this game wouldn't be so popular would it, or WoW for that matter.

because apparently dong the exact same thing for levelling is your cup of tea ? >_>
or you must enjoy the brainless 1-2-3 bashing that FATEs are.

I don't know which option would be the worst. If you don't enjoy end game, you're not likely to enjoy levelling in dungeon, leaving the brainless FATEs (I do not pay to bash 3 keys. there are good free rythm games for that) or the boring leves (no difficulty at all, redundants, etc...)

For example, Dark Knight won't be getting Marauder's abilities starting from level 31.

Edit: Forgot to mention I'm guessing they'll start from level 30.

where are people getting that Idea that the new jobs will branch off of existing ones ? >_> that doesn't make sense for any of them.

Sounds reasonable just as long they do not keep the level the 3 new jobs start with too high.

While most would just spam 1,2,3 for killing things when rushing the leveling process, it still requires time for people to properly grasp the concept on how a Job works to their full potential so making them jump too soon into high level content would affect a players efficiency with the new Jobs if they don't spend enough time practicing it and learning which skill is best for which situation.

However, if level 30 then we may have to expect them having the same restrictions for new players that a new character must beat Titan first before they can obtain any of the new Jobs which is the current requirement to access Jobs in 2.X era for new characters.
