I should note the phrase 'likely will not'. It seems like you're required to level to 30 bare minimum to unlock the new jobs - the question is, what level brackets will they supply? Low level dungeons are hell if you're a DPS and it'd be a direly missed opportunity to not encourage DRK and AST play in vanilla dungeons.
video games are bad
It really feels like they're just randomly making stuff up as they go with no planning.
"Jobs will be like specialists you'd want to play in a party while classes will be used for soloing."
"Classes will branch into multiple jobs and ACN/SMN/SCH will be the first!"
"We didn't want to make THF into its own job so we made it into a class instead, please feel that ROG is like THF."
"New jobs won't have base classes at all."
I'm still new to the game, but the whole job/class system seems like such a bundle of missed opportunities... I figured that each class would have multiple different jobs to choose from that each specialise into a different niche, but nope, apart from arcanist which has two different jobs with conflicting stat requirements for no apparent reason, every class gets one job that's objectively better than the base class in almost every scenario...It really feels like they're just randomly making stuff up as they go with no planning.

the reason behind this is because they realized there was too much limitation in terms of diversity.I'm still new to the game, but the whole job/class system seems like such a bundle of missed opportunities... You can see "seeds" for this perhaps being an idea originally, but the idea was clearly abandoned once a lot of the problems with SCH/SMN came to light. Namely, your base class only has 5ish abilities to distinguish itself from the other job attached to its class. Moreover, from a design perspective it changes basically nothing as you still have to itemize both jobs separately and balance them so they both are able to do their jobs. SCH/SMN works because it was designed with this idea in mind from the very beginning, but doing the same for another class was deemed too troublesome and limiting (again, you only get 5 abilities to distinguish one job from another) so they've decided to go with straight jobs.
Plus they had the issue of the "bonus point" allocation.
Good. I didn't want the game under the yoke of the class system forever. An expansion is the perfect time to move on.It really feels like they're just randomly making stuff up as they go with no planning.

Just because you might not like it doesn't mean they aren't planning things out.It really feels like they're just randomly making stuff up as they go with no planning.

The whole ROG/THF thing was and is one of the dumbest things for people to be angry about. It's like the difference between someone calling a bow wielder either "Bowmaster", "Ranger", or "Archer". There's literally no play style difference, it's just the name that changes. People mad that it wasn't called thief is one of the most puzzling things. I've played a few FF games, and it doesn't have all of the functionality of THF, but it has some key things that allows you to appreciate that it might as well be called THF at the class level. They couldn't do it, due to lore. They actually care about their game's story being at least a little cohesive. Get over it.
I don't remember them saying anything about classes having the explicit use of solo-play. I do remember them saying that they were viable for it, but they wanted Job's to be the only thing viable for end-game. Rightfully so, too. Why would you want to advance into a stronger character, and then revert to the lower level, less powerful skill set? This game doesn't offer enough customization (yet) to have classes be interesting in end-game scenarios anyway. You'd sacrifice really potent character assets just to access a few more watered down cross-classes? They thought that out way more than you're giving credit for.
I don't think they ever said that they wanted multiple Job branches, either. They wanted to try something new, and whether or not it was worthy of being called (good) innovation is up to you. This is the only one I can't really defend, because they probably just had the idea and rolled with it, but even then, why is that a bad thing?
And new Jobs not having base classes is going to be great. Something that I'm sure they thought out, and the game will benefit from.

I'm confused. What exactly is weird about Hildebrand in a dress? Surely you don't mean "male in a dress" because clothing does not have a gender. Have you ever seen males or females born wearing clothes? No, they're man-made. Gender is biological. Clothing is not. You've basically been forced and brainwashed from a young age into a societal construct that you're expected to conform to, and if you don't you're labeled as weird. And for the record pants only existed in recent times. Prior to that males and females wore dresses and skirts, and in many places males still do wear dresses and skirts. When I first saw that part of the Hildebrand questline, I felt embarrassed for SE because they tried making a joke of a male wearing a dress, and there was nothing funny about that. He looked great. It was just a shame SE tried making it look goofy due to Hildebrand typically being a goof. The fact that SE made a mockery of "male in a dress" almost made me unsub when I saw that. And no, I'm not a male. I'm just an intelligent person. I'm going to hope that what you meant is that you're just not use to seeing Hildebrand wear a dress since it's not his usual attire.
