That would not change a thing, as the exploit revolves around fighting 15 different people, not 1 person 15 times.

Oh? I was under the impression it simply involved finding a handful (3/4) people with a high amount of wins (10~) that would lose to you.

At least its difficult for them. Still then, a Roulette type system would be a sound approach if they could manage to implement it without too much hassle.

MMOs need to hire a negative thinker to figure out how new features will be abused, so they can plan around it before the content is released.

I volunteer for that! One thing I can surely do is negative thinking alright!

But really - TT is just bad as it is. I mean they haven't even thought of implementing a forfeit feature for those DF pops, what did you expect from the tournament, really? :/ I'm basically ignoring the whole thing, TT and the tournament.

Yeah, there's a ton of baddies out there who are either buying wins/trading with friends/winning against mules and it's pretty pathetic. Hopefully they do something about this soon but I can't really see anything being done to fix it lol. It's sad because I know some really good triple triad players who have been practicing quite a bit for the tournament and they're not even on the board, while the current board is dominated by a bunch of losers who cheated haha.

people must be extremely naive to believe that a game like this one could be played *fairly* as in each person being his own individual separated from the FC, I mean if you think of it, we have a conflictual situation, what the purpose of a FC and/or friends to be part of a group and help each other right? so did they do anythign wrong by doing what a FC/friends is supposed to do ? of course not, this just why FC/friends exists to help and support members/friends among each others right?

On the other side though you have a game that is supposed to be played solo vs the rest and not solo vs a FC/friends...it should be like that but is not ...is it wrong to want to have a game where the person you face is like you solo and not pushed by the rest ? of course is not, but equally is not wrong to have a FC/friends helping their own members/friends....so what is the parade to it ?

Play only with NPCs dont play into tournaments with other Non NPC player, and if you do, you do it knowing that you will have to face those and accept it, until SE MAYBE will do something, what though is hard...they would contradict themselves as well, since all they say is that FFXIV is a game of cooperation and group work...

As much as I hope there will be something preventing this, since you cant sanction something that is not forbidden, right ? I doubt is going to happen. Playing these kind of *casino* games and hoping them to be fair is....in my humble opinion ...being extremely naive.

that is not the only problem with the tournament ... they call having all open and plus tourny rules it shoudl have been double roulette rules least then its random so not only do you have to have an idea to what you are doing it would fix your issue as well since with random choice of rules you cannot give someone a win everytime since your bound to mess up along the way if your not up to all the rules... tournament rules should always be full random forces people to learn rather than cheat.. also your holding this tourny for 1 week period so 95% of the player population has already played their 15 matches top 20 is up there end it already rather tah make people wait a full week when everyone is already done.

Win trading is a player thing. It's not SE's fault that people trade things so that everyone they participate with can have a chance at whatever prize is being offered.

Yes, god forbid a tournament be designed to function in a competitive fashion, thereby depriving you of an entire weekly lottery's worth of MGP for functionally free and an item for an activity you don't even like. It's not like there are people who wanted to play the game and feel like they were being rewarded for their skills or dedication or anything. Let's all just play Gil Farming Contest XIV Online. That sounds fun!
