It's not the 30 seconds that matter to me, like I said it's the cumulative total of wasted time. If someone (and I should add that it doesn't even need to be the same person) drags on races for an extra 20 seconds because they entered a race with no intention of racing for a dozen races, I miss out on a couple of races I could have done if nobody was holding me up AFKing. In an evening I'd lose out on quite a few races if AFKers were that prevalent. Missing out on a dozen races because someone is purposefully entering an AFKing would annoy me, waiting for an AFKer once wouldn't, though I certainly think it should be discouraged (some AFKs are unavoidable though).

I'm not one to get too annoyed at such a thing, but if someone was faced with AFKers that often during an evening, I can see how they'd get annoyed, even if the person they eventually get annoyed at only did it the once. If I saw the exact same person holding everyone up over an evening of racing I might say something, but I'm doubtful that happens.

Once the fastest chocobo reaches the first spot, there is a 30 second timer, you normally have to wait 15-20 seconds because that's the average difference between spot 1 and spot 7...but instead you wait 30 because the timer ends. So you are waiting 10-15 seconds more, not 30 seconds more.

To get a high leveled chocobo its going to take thounsads of races. 1,000s! That extra 15 to 20 seconds per race adds up. If you dont have time to actually race then dont race.

Hardly thousands. Please use the basic arithmetic needed to figure out race and exp ratios then come back.

And like I said, it's not much of my time, and not really possible to prove if a person was doing it intentionally or unintentionally, so I don't believe worth reporting.

But I certainly don't agree with doing it intentionally. If you're going to chocobo race, chocobo race. If you're going to afk farm the rewards, only do it against the NPCs, don't do it against players that are actually expecting a race.

Maybe in a world where you would consistently find an afker 150 matches in a row, 150 x 10 seconds every match would equal a total of...1500 seconds wasted. That's a bit more than 20 minutes over probably an entire day of playing (have fun grinding 150 races). Let's go back onto the real world though...where this does not happen because you don't encounter someone afking 150 matches in a row, or if you do and it bothers you so much, you can always choose other circuits and ratings. At this point I feel people just want to complain for the sake of complaining. Seriously try harder with the whole "you are wasting my time" reasoning.

I think the grind is getting you. Just pace yourself more and actually be present.

Also, doesn't having 1 less competitor makes up for an easier race = more exp? Those 10 seconds you are waiting more happen because you are competing against 6 players, not 7, so if you are concerned about this hampering your progress...I'm going to say it again: try harder.

I'm not saying you are wasting my time, I'm saying AFKers are, and as such AFKing shouldn't be encouraged. Or do you think you're the only person doing this? I'll admit, it isn't prevalent, but I'd like it to stay that way by not making it out to be an "OK" sort of thing.
