Is afking in chocobo races a bannable offense?

It's probably not a bannable offense, but, given what Catwho said, there should probably be a penalty implemented which locks you out of Chocobo racing for a fixed period of time if you DNF too often in races. Kind of like how you're prevented from queuing for duties for 30 minutes if you withdraw from the queue too many times.

Auto-running across the map and going AFK in a Chocobo race are not the same thing, given that other players won't be stuck waiting on you to get from point A to point B just so they can have the option of leaving the map.

Every person that AFKs their way across the finish line is one less person I need to compete against during the race. If waiting an extra couple seconds means I get more wins, then so be it.

But again...in a dungeon AFKers are a complete detriment to you....in choco racing you wait a little longer but there's no downside even a minor benefit? I don't get. I love afk-ers, more exp for me when I actually do the race.

This is completely false. I have never afked in an instance and I would never do so. To my favour, I will also say I've never hacked or used any sort of bot in any of the games I've played, ever. Afking in an instance causes a clear disruption to the other 7-3 players which puts them at clear disadvantage for clearing the dungeon/trial. Afking in a chocobo race is like competing against 6 NPCs instead of 7. I don't have a problem about people disagreeing with me on this subject, it's not entirely morally correct, fine, I'll give you that, but don't come here saying it's the same thing as afking in a dungeon because it freaking isn't for the love of god.

And I would report you for abuse of the system. The chocobo system has an auto finish for people that DNF. So you're abusing the system. Good job.
