Sorry, but if you are being serious then that is a terrible way to play. Yes, you need to keep an eye on the party bars, but you also need to watch people's positioning, look at the focus target bar and the boss to see what is coming next etc.

This happens a lot. There should be a requirement of "must have cleared Haukke Manor HM this many times before entering dungeon."

Ugh, so I've ventured into WoD.. and man, there are a lot of terrible healers out there.

Had WHM today in mostly i100 on left (one i120) plus mix of i90/i100 on right, and i90 relic. She wasn't ressing as much and got hit by a few avoidable mechanics.. which is fine and all.. but proceeded to get eaten by Cerberus 3 times. We were in alliance A and she wasn't getting small.. oh no. Just running into purple, died, get ressed, haul ass back to purple.. Healer pants dropped, and as soon as I clicked need, she said "please, I really need it." Too late, I got it. >:| Someone said I should pass if the healer needed it, and I pointed out it was an upgrade for me and we weren't that different in gear. Her response was "but I've ran it 10 times."

Worst part is, on the final boss, she proceeded to eat a bunch more mechanics then didn't take a res from me. Left her dead and got the other 4 dead people in the party up, got everyone's HP to full, then tried again to get her up (and she took it). 10 times and she didn't know basic mechanics?? (It was only my third, so really lucky for the drop).

Finally went into WoD (not really by choice...) to heal it for the first time since it came out (been barding it on an alt. It was a weird conversion from how I viewed these bosses and mechanics). I.....pretty much saw everything everyone's been saying in this thread (from a healer's perspective.... when I'm on DPS, I'm not paying attention to tank's regens, etc). If not then-some.

My alliance's tank was MTing most of it. We had several WHMs, including myself.
- the infamous "Why is my Regen the only one??" (every now and then I'd see a second. There were more WHMs than that -_-)
- Other alliances don't give a damn unless it's their peeps/tank
- The "afk" healer standing behind me (and away for Mortal Gaze, I'm assuming) for all of the first boss. Only moving to avoid roulette/Doublevision (they got kicked right after)
- The "I'll just succor here and there, let my faerie do all the stuff and occasionally throw out a physic until I'm forced to actually do shit" co-healer
- The mechanic ignorers (I'll admit, I got caught in a little bit of healing tunnel vision because of this - and ended up in same category -_- Breaking things while trying to fix broken things, I suppose.)
- The 'lets keep being on the complete far opposite side of the ring from the healer all the time' positions; lets all be completely scattered so I can't even Medica usefully (but part of this is the nature of the large arenas... but still annoying)
- The bards that won't sing, even at full MP and I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel on Cure I's and Free Cures (Thanks to Shrouds) because I'm semi soloing and chasing people down all the time.
- Tank dies because I can't do all this shit, by my self, at once and all over the arenas
- Blame the healers (of course)

Second time in was much better. Co-healer D/Ced a few times and lagged in mechanics (I wish I could grab their arm and pull them out of the selected Roulette area from Angra x.x), but they were doing what they could (*/soothe to them*). A partially absent co-healer in run #2 went lots smoother than all of run #1. >_>

I probably won't file this under the genuine horror story pile, but it was an unnecessary nuisance. I went into Garuda HM as a SCH expecting a quick and clean victory, like the two dozen other goes at the Howling Eye I have been doing this week.

Five seconds into the fight, my internet decided to gleefully troll me, so I was lagging considerably. The other SCH noted that I was shown as disconnected very briefly (it left me a wee bit disconcerted), and as a result she had to do the vast bulk of the healing. Once my internet decided to be cooperative again, the group wiped, possibly to Aerial Blast.

Round 2. Okay, I thought to myself. That was probably sort of my bad, though honestly, even if one healer was conspicuously lagging, there was no real reason why the rocks would be in such a poor state that Aerial Blast could wipe everyone out. What were the DPS party members doing? The unmitigated lag I just experienced deprived me of the chance to see what had happened, so I chalked it up to perhaps no one was bothering to deal with the plumes, and perhaps the one non-lagging SCH was being overworked. Ehh, fair enough, I thought. This time we can easily run Garuda over, right?

Yeeeeeeah.

Erm, main tank for some reason decided to hug Garuda right in the centre of the arena in Phase 2, while the off-tank was...twiddling his thumb? Move to the rim and away from the whirlwinds, I tried to say, but my keyboard decided to stubbornly only half-work at that very moment. None of the DPS members said a word, so it was up to the other SCH to instruct one of the tanks to move Garuda to the rim and out of the whirlwinds. Did either of them comply? Nope. Even better, when the MT finally decided to move Garuda's arse over, it was right on top of a whirlwind, while dividing the party across the three major "safe spots", with Suparna and Chirada spawning just in time to eat our faces off one by one.

THEN lag returned like a bad rash. Next thing I knew, I was being killed by a rotating whirlwind. I could almost see the agony of the other SCH as she frantically attempted to bring me back to my feet, just as one of the tanks was about to meet his maker. For a split second, I could see the message asking if I accept a Raise. I choose "yes" and subsequently...

Disconnection.

Sigh.

Honestly, it's never usually been this bad. I guess I just have gremlins in my house tonight.

Sounds an awful lot like the Garuda HM fight I described a few posts ago. Given the number of players subscribed to the game in total though, it shouldn't surprise me to hear of other Tank players acting the same way as the ones I worked with.

Speaking of healer horror stories though, I just remembered one more.

One time while I was running Titan HM, there was an obvious troll playing as the MT of this group. Any time Titan was about to unleash his most powerful cone AoE blast, the Tank would deliberately run towards any person standing behind Titan, causing Titan to turn around, and unleash said move on any healers and DPS standing there. I thus end up taking full blow of the blast and instantly die, being the only one who wasn't in on the fact that the Tank was a troll. I then noticed that during this part, all the DPS had already moved the moment it was about to happen. It wasn't just one troll. It was a group of them. I called the Tank out on this, in which he replied:

"I thought the damage split between party members."

No. No it doesn't. Not Titan's AoE. The Bard then called them all out by telling me directly that they're ALL trolls. I then looked to see the other Healer was still standing, but was doing nothing to rez me, despite there being so many obvious open attempts to rez me. Turns out the ENTIRE group save for the BRD were ALL trolls, attacking other random healers that joined the group for sadistic pleasure. I was the 6th healer to roll into the group according to the BRD. The only reason the BRD was still standing was... well.. she's a BRD. What do BRD's do when it comes to DPS? She was clearly making EVERY effort to stay away from Titan and the rest of the group. Made more clear that unlike all the others being healed, the troll healer was making no effort to heal the BRD, meaning the BRD had to self-sustain herself by catching the AoE heal bursts or by using potions.

6 people in that group were sadistic trolls. SIX. This is why I don't like trusting myself to Duty Finder and landing in PUGs. I do it anyway for the dailies, but still. This battle was seriously going to be my first ever Rage Quit in an MMO, assuming I had the time to actually do so. (Titan died shortly after I got done raging at how sadistic the rest of the group save the BRD was) I basically got some freebie Soldiery and Poetics in compensation, but I still left with a sour taste in my mouth.

Running Pharos on blm trying to get a zodiac drop and the healer was a whm sporting an i21 (no that's not a typo) waist, i60 weapon, a piece of fending jewelry, and a piece of slaying jewelry. After the first wipe on the first boss, the tank asked the healer if he seriously had nothing better than a waist that was ilevel 21. Healer said no. After the second wipe on the first boss, the tank asked the healer if he realized Pharos is healer intensive. Healer's like "Maybe." After the 4th wipe I left. Went back in with a geared healer and had no problem.

Man you guys remind me of the aurum vale I've had about a week ago. It was for my Zodiac, Last Resort and at the same time nexus light farm.
Heard from friends "I one shotted AV" it got my hopes up. But one group after another and still no drop.

The worst run however was with an apparently fresh 50 group. I was prepared that the run would go really slow. Not lying here, I prepared to semi afk a good bit instead of DPSing so it would run smoother.
The tank starts pulling the first group. Stands in the blight, proceeds to pull more mobs by not moving away. Here is the funny thing, he single targets. We all know the "No flash PLD". He was one. While getting bashed I manage to keep us alive. No more semi afk I realize. But what does the tank do, HE EFFIN IGNORES THE 4 MOBS PUNCHING ON THE GROUP. He just goes and pulls the next pack and proceeds to single target. We wiped. On trash. And that shouldnt be the only time we do. First boss, finally some other party members talking except me auto translating flash. "mange fruit a 2 stacks"
OH JOY
The dragoon eventually died to the stacks, I refused to heal him at about 6 stacks and 10 warnings.
The tank only ate once at 2 stacks. I try to tell him to eat one, even talked french. "MANGE FRUIT"
First boss done without wiping. Thats a huge success. Second trash is much like the first trash. Just that the tank runs straight into those morbol egg things, slaps them once and then ignores em. I tried to kill those with energy drain and ruin spam. Mostly succeeded at it. Few still popped. Usually I just dot them and bane and it's guaranteed they die but not if that guy activates all of em, doesnt tank all mobs etcetcetc.
He got hit by bad breath constantly.
Coin counter. Not much to say, he didn't dodge. Both DPS died. The tank didn't get one shot gladly so it was him and me. since it's one target he could manage hate. He just never dodged but can't expect too much in a single day. The DPS said "why don't you rez"
"You're a waste of MP" "I saw you running around, not DPSing and yet still dying, thats why I wont raise you."
"So you're healer and you attack"
"I do my own job and I do your job better than you"
It's hilarious how coincounter started dropping HP once I decided to stop heal DPS and could just cleric stance. I also have to mention I DID RAISE THE DPS. Both at least once. But it's like, overhealing yknow. I saw them not doing any DPS. Next trash - see rant above.
Why am I still sticking to this group? Why ? My patience ended on the first trash, why am i still here???
Last boss. I bane the egg things, seemingly I'm the only one taking care of them. (I forgot the names) DRG got hit by a single bad breath. How even ?!?! Tank gets hit by every single bad breath. DRG stacks at 6. Tank gets bad breathed so he uses almost every fruit.
We finish.
I leave immediately.
I get my Zodiac drop
