I use all beastmen because I'm only at 45 unique cards right now so I can't use primals or garleans yet, but the full beastmen deck is still plenty good enough to beat the Ascension card players.

Bear with me, trying to remember this from memory...

    ...got it!

Frixio, Amal'jaa, Memeroon, Scarface Bugaal Ja and Mutamix.

Protip for this deck: Playing Frixio on the far-right/middle:

    [] [] []
    [] [] [X] <--- here
    [] [] []

Will net you a win (~95%) of the time against either Vorsaile or the Imperial Indolent. They will almost always beat your Frixio card with a card underneath it or to the left of it. I take Frixio back with Amal'jaa, and by the end of the match all of my cards on the board have ascended so high that all their stats are A's and can't be switched back. Just remember to always wall off the 2 from any of those cards and the rest becomes very easy.

edit: The Amal'jaa that is used to flip Frixio back also doubles as bait to get the NPC to flip the open 1 on the board. Neither NPC can combat your card if they take this bait.

If either of those NPC's use the top spot to flip your Frixio, it is harder to get a win but you can almost always assure at least a draw. It's possible to win when they flip Frixio from the top, but the AI gets very wonky and it's very tough to predict what the NPC will do next.

    Hope that helps!

I hope you have luck with it. I literally lose maybe 3-4 out of 100 matches with this set-up. Just remember throw down trash in spots if you can't flip a card yet so you can always keep ascending. Don't block off possibilites when you can't flip them yet because by the end of the match (last 1-2 cards) nothing of yours will be able to be flipped because Ascension has brought your stats to A.

I wonder about how the AI works for this honestly, because I tried the Sezul guide for the 90% win chance and it just didn't work for me. Sezul always flipped my dodo in the spot that guy's post said it would suck if he flipped it there lol.

I have since replicated this deck and strategy, and can say with utmost confidence that it is fantastic. I've never had such a good win rate against the Indolent Imperial until this deck. Thanks again for posting!

Glad it's working for you! I still don't have Gaius, but he is an awesome NPC to farm for MGP regardless.

Just wait until you have 60 unique cards and can build a Scion deck. I don't even have to think anymore he just can't combat the raw power!!

Right now I use Mountain Dew Bahamut Blast, the 2-stars the Imperial drops, and 2 2-star Beastmen. All of his cards tend to have weak sides on the top or bottom, so you can bait with Bahamut middle and then counterflip with the generally-well-rounded 2* beastmen.

Vorsaile in Gridania is actually the reason why I stopped doing this because if you play Frixio in the spot I outlined, Vorsaile will almost always use either Kan-E-Senna or Nanamo right underneath Frixio to flip it because those cards both have an unfavorable South stat, so the NPC is trying to wall off its low number. But the West stat for those two cards are 7 and 8 respectively.

So Frixio being played adds a +1, making her open numbers all 7's. Flip it with the Amal'jaa on top of it (being an 8 with +1) and baiting the hungry NPC with that beautiful 1 open to the outside.

By now the Ascension is +2 and all of the rest of my cards are 8's.

If Kan-E was used to flip Frixio, you can now flip Kan-E and make all of your numbers 9's. If Nanamo was played, then you need another Ascension before you can flip, but you can almost always get your next ascension by flipping the card the NPC used to flip Amal'jaa (in my personal experience, Vorsaile usually uses Papalymo/Yda for this and very rarely Minfilia because she is even easier to claim)

By that time you have control of 6 cards and your stats are ascended to the point where they just can't be taken back.

I literally copy pasted this to the Imperial Indolent and it works with about the same success rate. Both of the NPC's have cards that are stacked for certain flips, but starting on the right instead of the left gave me more opportunities to exploit the NPC into leaving a low stat open for flipping, more often.
