    I agree it's more like MGP-sink as it is right now, with it's complete randomness. I mean I wouldn't mind an actual randomly selected AoE from the options that already are there, if we could somehow dodge at least, be it a reaction-mechanic or anything else. Paying for pure clairvoyance (indeed, very good word there) and then waiting for our chances is called lottery, and we already have the jumbo cactpot for that.

    Yeah, I think part of the problem people have with this gate is the all-or-nothing standpoint. None of the other GATES do this, even Vase because you can learn from the beginner's traps and try again to recoup the points.

    This GATE is 99% unrewarding for participating, so people feel they're wasting their time. I've personally only won once out of like ten tries, so at least I've still won more than I've lost but the more I play, the more that one win is diminished. That makes this GATE truly gambling, which personally I couldn't care less to do IRL.

    Since I hate gambling, I started theorycrafting ways to game this GATE with highest possible chance of standing still and winning. The patterns are wedge, landslide, four circles, one large circle, and outer ring. Examining wedge, the highest chance of not being hit points to being at the epicenter but slightly off so one for inner ring. Landslide can hit anywhere on the platform, so this one is null for contribution. Four circles take up the middle ring randomly so that's one for inner ring and outer. Large circle can hit anywhere on the platform, but if you're closer to middle there's a higher chance of it landing elsewhere. Outer ring promotes both inner and middle ring, so the picture is becoming clear.

    Based on the possible combinations, it's clear that standing towards the inner ring will yield the best chances of success. RNG is RNG, but if you want to game the system by just entering and going afk: sit somewhere in the inner ring and pray you chose the right spot.

    I'm afraid I have to disagree, I enjoy how this GATE is designed. I don't think it's unreasonable to have one purely chance based game in what is a casino of sorts. I wouldn't mind varying rewards for how many AoE you avoid, but the design of the event itself I'm more than happy with. It's my favorite GATE.

    Listen, I agree that it could be more fun and engaging, but let's be real here. It's the Gold Saucer, a place made for gambling. The reward is so high because it's luck-based. All of the other GATEs are skill-based, let us have one that's chance. For every person that complains about this GATE, there are plenty who enjoy it, myself included. It's fine the way it is.

    Why in the word are you complaining about RNG in a casino? Do you walk into roulette places and complain about how it's not a test of tossing the ball into the colors? Do you complain about not being able to win at slots by stoping the spinner with good timing? ITs a gamble and the huge payout makes it worth it. Leave the complete RNG and the huge payout. I wish even more of the GATES had an RNG aspect to it. Its one of the few places it fits, unlike the zodiac or coil grind

    I usually stand next to ppl i hate so i can share my bad rng with them and get them blown off with me on round 1.
    Works 100% of the time!
    Typhoon has like a yumi tracker or something that will target anyone with that name. That's what i noticed during all my testing since launch.

    I hate it too. But I do think it needs to be left as it is.

    Or make it so if the entry is 50 and if you get knocked down on the first blow, you get either 0 like it is now, or 10. If you make it to the second part, 15 or 20. 3rd part 40 or 45. 4th part 50 or 55. 5th, keep it as it is or bring it down to a flat 1000. Or some better balanced numbers, but you get the idea.

    That way if you don't make it all the way, it's not a complete loss and is easily made up.
