The point till stands. Numbers is based on TT content you could complete in first two days. If you could beat the hardest NPCs then the system wouldnt be worth doing in first place. I imagine some of the hardest NPCs could reward up wards of 500~ a win. Who knows, way to early to tell. Right now we only have a handful of intro NPCs. They could easily hot fix in more tougher ones pretty effortlessly.

I also have to disagree with you on tournaments. Tourny is the whole driving force for TT. Casuals are the ones who will be in tournies, not raiders. Casuals are willing to put in time for good cards and decks. Casuals who dont mind spending a weekend at a tournament vs a raid. If you ask any TT player "so do you want to get good and do well in one of the tournaments ?" I imagine you get a universal yes.

Also it a bit early to decided at what rate we will even get tournaments when zero occured so far. It might be every week or bi-weekly for all we know and SE just giving us a little time to get some decks together and learn the rule sets.
