Fledgling adventurers continue to arrive in Eorzea in droves, and we are pleased to announce that the realm is now home to four million registered accounts.

...four million accounts? From 1+ mil to 500k to 4mil - I do wonder just how many of those are inactive or RMTs. I mean it's a nice figure, but... what do you think?

My guess is 3.5mil are RMT.

Not all of those will be active accounts, but it's still a nice number. I see newbies on my server all the time and in huge numbers, so it doesn't surprise me. I might be wrong, but I think FFXIV has been released in more countries (like China) since the last stats were put out, which has also brought in more players I'm sure.

4 million currently active, or 4 million registered since launch? In any case, it's a big milestone, so congratulations to Yoshi-p and everyone at Square Enix (and beyond) who has worked on this terrific game, as well as all of the players who apparently haven't alienated everyone yet!!

its now a year later, the game was fully released in August 2014, but we dont really count August since it was like the 26th it got full release and even then i believe it was only early access for CE owners etc.

so september - March = 6 months, 500k users in six months is amazing. especially since alot of people mistook the game for just the old 1.0 version for a lil while.

I'm assuming that's a typo and they mean Monday, March 3rd.

Its only a weekend. Anymore than that and people will have fully completed all the content up to date lol sad part is, you know it's true. Someone can start their month free trial and be caught up before it runs out, it's been done before, even without playing 24/7, so finishing everything in a free week would turn players away, so they trap them with only 2-3 days because SE can't come up with content that lasts to keep people each month >_>
