So we didn't have a name for the moon until the the middle of the 1900s.

There are multiple outposts in Mor Dhana with people there. That means people can, although at risk, get to Mor Dhana. The death of people in the vicinity isn't a relevant factor into coming up with a creative name for the dragon and passing it throughout the history.

Square was sloppy in most ways with this game, and they're trying to rectify it. They don't defend it so I don't see why some are jumping through extraordinary hoops on fire with a kitten in their left hand trying to protect it.

The ship crashed right into the lake, nearly dead centre as well. What if the primals had been sleeping under the lake, or sealed underneath it, and when the airship sunk down onto it, the seal burst, releasing the primals? I always thought why the rocks around the lake were glowing in the CG.
This is one of the things I sort of consider in my OP, but it also wouldn't be a terribly amazing "seal" to be that shallow. Usually when sealing something awy you tend to want to seal it far away from being accessible. The crash wasn't terribly deep. One interesting thing, as you mention, were the stones in Gridania. I think they contained the same substance as whatever created the aetheryite crystals [if that's cereulean Ionno], and when those were "popped" they formed those crystal formations all over Mor Dhana. It's difficult to say they were related to the eikons, though, since they were spread all over and the eikons came from a central location in the video.

Its here that I want to point out something that I find very interesting. The two tribes that are for the most part are just chilled out, are the two that have no known link to a primal.
Not really a huge sample size here yet, nor is there information to definitively say they aren't attached to anything, since Ramuh and Carbuncle each have a bit of credibility with the sylphs possibly associated with them. There are also faction quests where the sylphs are your enemies, just to point out.

Goblins weren't even part of the original pre-alpha paid launch, so they just sort of showed up as monsters.

    Nice thinking though.

Actually Goblins were mentioned back then. Mind you it was only a small paragraph of text from a out of the way npc. Next time you are chilling out in uldah go chat up vavaki at 7,4. the text has been slightly modified since the goblins started showing up but for the most part its still the same.

One aspect that i do want people to seriously consider is to take every thing said by npc's with a grain of salt. Since the mob size increase i have seen at least two distinct reasons as to why come directly from npc's. In short there is a lot of misinformation swirling around. se be trollin just keep that in mind.

What really annoys me in game is that it has a damn good lore in it but all happens in background without us. We're just bystanders.

Hopefully this stands to improve now that they've said they're willing to ditch crafters and gatherers from being able to complete the main story quests. That was severely limiting our interaction with the events of the story.

I think they could get away with letting all DOH/DOL play as bards though; granted there would be a huge saturation of them.

True, but our "Gods" have never manifested physically except in books and people's dreams. The primals/eikons have been known to take physical form in front of the beastmen, so they actually DO interact with them.

As far as the crash, and the primals "Sleeping" under the lake. Remember the primals use aethritic energy to manifest them self's into the plain hydalin habits. I would imagen that the mor d'hona disaster was the largest expulsion of energy the game world has ever seen.

So lets put all the pieces together duct taped with the magical material known as "what if".

Lets say there were large enough releases in the past to let the primal's partly manifest them self's in the past. Beast tribes witness these individual manifestations, Religions are formed.

The disaster of mor dhona happens primals of all shapes and sizes use the energy to take stroll around the world reinforcing said religions.

The knowledge of how to summon the primals is brought to the beast tribes. And in a omg what have we done moment the summoned primal's brain wash and enslave them turning them into pawns of the primal war.

Its here that I want to point out something that I find very interesting. The two tribes that are for the most part are just chilled out, are the two that have no known link to a primal.

Where as the kobalts, ixal, amool, and sahagans (proxied by there reavers) will eat your face off rather then look at you.
Good theory. I like the top part, but except for the fact as, I think someone mentioned, that sylphs also want to eat you out in one of the quests as well. So they're not all overly good and righteous and chilled out.
