To Yoshi-P & Team: About Lightning card and future tourny cards

I have no idea whether SE has any plans to introduce "get it now, or lose the chance forever" cards for Triple Triad. What I DO know is that if such cards exist, or come to exist, Triple Triad will lose a lot of interest for me. I'm a collector; if I don't have at least the capability of obtaining ALL the cards, I'll have precious little interest in obtaining ANY of the cards.

It's the same reason I don't care much about minions or mounts. There are some now that can never be obtained again. My collection can never be complete, so why bother to collect at all?

This is how it usually works in other game when sn exclusive old content get released to masses. Give the old original exclusive version some kind of "vintage" mark or something that indicates it was obtained back when it was super rare

Yes I have seen the card. Vaan and Tidus have the exact same numbers in differing orientations. There are other cards just as good as lightning. This tournament is in no way the only way to get cards this good. There are even other cards with two A's making them in some ways more powerful than this card. Trying to act like this card is so strong it makes or breaks the game is in no way accurate. She even has a 1 on one side making her clearly a wall card and there are other cards way more flexible and just as powerful. Just pointing out that this card IS powerful doesn't change the fact there are plenty of other equally powerful cards.

Are we looking at different sources for the card stats, cuz the one Im looking at has her at L=A, R=A. Up=9, D=7. There is no 1 there. Vaan and Tidus but have a frikking 1, and only one A. There are only 8 cards that could trump Lightning.. and that is ONLY from the D position because she has a 7 there, while there are only 4 that can beat her 9 on top.. for a grand total of 12 out 80 cards that could beat her if YOU have these already rare cards and then meet the required positional ... er position I guess to exploit the "weakness".

But really Im just ticked that it had to be Lightning that had to be the strongest card... that is super lame and Toriyama seems to have scared Yoshi P into doing so.

Have you even seen the card? It's good but there are others very similar with the same numbers just oriented different. You are seriously overstating how much of an "edge" this 1 card gives, if any.

Yes I have answered your questions with a single answer. Most of your questions are accusing me of jumping the gun and asking me what makes me think this or that related to SE's plans with the card and tournaments, and in a recent post I said, "Also for your 2nd post accusing me of complaining and making assumptions, since you assumed that I assumed Yoshi and team did not already have any plans to make card available again, I edited in a sentence at beginning of topic post. Therefor you only need to read a sentence or two at the very beginning of the topic post, which is separate from the edit in bold at the bottom of the post which I said was unrelated. It says, "This idea is only if it was already planned for card to be tourny winner locked forever. Who knows, there might already be plans to not keep the card tourny winner locked." In other words, how do you expect me to answer your 'jump the gun' questions when I was never jumping the gun or making assumptions in the first place? That's an assumption you made and keep making even though I already told you that I edited the topic post since you jumped the gun about the thread. As for your new question, yes I have seen the card. You have to understand TCG and CCG metagame to understand how card game development works. No card game tournament rewards a card that is exclusive in a gameplay aspect because it gives an advantage by providing something no other card has. The card that is rewarded simply has alternative artwork or something like that. Every card is different. There will be no other TT card with those exact same numbers in the exact same position. Just because there are other cards with 2 As does not make them just as good. No card will have the same combination and position of numbers thus giving an advantage to a select few. If SE does this it would be flawed development of a CCG and they would essentially have a broke card game. It's not vanity like minions or mounts, etc, otherwise exclusive vanity isn't an issue.

Even TCG tournaments in real life don't award tournament-exclusive cards that you can actually play with.

Exactly, though TT is currently CCG only since cards are not tradable yet. If they do become tradable it will be a TCG. But I get what you mean.

Let the winners enjoy their cards for awhile then put it up in the MGS for 1,000,000 like Cloud. It would still be a long-ass time before someone could exchange that amount of points. Yes, I know, this is option #1, but it makes sense to do it that way.

Have you played Puzzle and Dragon?

Players should be able to "draw" new cards from a card-vendor-machine by "token" obtained from the game,
and ofcoz extra tokens could be obtained by other methods,
for example, when something good happens, like anniversal event, everyone get daily logon tokens in a period,
or when something bad happens, like server down, everyone will get some tokens as for compensation...etc
and ofcoz, tokens could be purchased from cash shop bulkly.

Meanwhile prize cards would be exclusively given from some time limited events,
so players will want more tokens and try to draw powerful cards to win the events for prize cards,
however, those time limited events actually would be happened again and again.

Moreover SE can produce the real version of cards for collectors, and the real version come with in-game version redeem code.
Eventually there could be a standalone mobile app for playing TT ^^;

Tag me in with the hate-club of the Lightning card. Mainly for it being Lightning but also because it's absurd how good the card is and only 3 people per server will be able to get it (assuming the NPC is correct about top 3). I'm all for exclusive cards being awarded in tournaments but A) why Lightning out of all the goddamn characters you could pick and B) it shouldn't be any more powerful than what others can get normally.

Regardless of the outcome of peoples complaints, the stats on the card NEEDS to be nerfed to be in line with the rest. The card as it is right now will be a race car given to a bicyclist racer and welcome him back to compete with it in next years bicycle race.

I don't see whats unusually powerful about the card, it is the same as Vaan or Tidus except rotated.

It's ok for something to be exclusive and for the winners, not everything needs participation medals.
