Racing chocobo controls?

Oh and also the thing I've noticed, on rare occasions, someone ahead of me will be going for the item chest and if it's a meh item with a boost after it, it somehow skips over the meh one, giving them the boost, only to give me a meh item., even though clearly, since they were ahead, they should have gotten the item listed next(the first one, not the boost). Not sure if it's some sort of choco ability to skip an item or people already worked in a 3rd party program to skip that. Also, those certain people who have 0% stamina yet run at full speed still >_> I kid you not, I had a person who was at 0% stamina at around 70% of the course done, only for them to continuously sprint forward for the next 30% of the course, winning them first place, when we all know if you run out of stamina, you drop to a snail pace.
