    Racing chocobo controls?

Just curious about what everyone's experiences are with controlling your chocobo in a race. Because for me, it's like he's the most indirect thing ever to control. Drunk or just plain disobedient - or it's lag/latency again, I don't know. But whatever I try to do, it just doesn't seem to work? Mounts are very smooth to make them go wherever I want them to, jump whenever I want them to... The racing chocobo? Not so much. Takes much longer to turn, to accelerate, to slow down, and jumping doesn't even seem to work every time.

If it is somehow connected to rank, I'm not sure it's even pointed out anywhere? (Unless I plain overlooked it, in which case, nevermind me.) If it is a connection issue... I really hope something can be done about it and they fix it asap. Because as it is now, there's no point for me in trying to race, I end up last every time.

Your chocobo is meant to slow down and be somewhat unresponsive when you turn, first starting out. There's a stat that makes it turn smoother and keep its speed better that you have to raise.

Didn't they hint at this problem in the live letter? I'm fairly sure they did and know this will be an issue. I'm sad to say, it's working at intended I presume.

Check your Cunning stat. That determines turning ability/response. It's still a bit weird for me, but it has improved the more I race.

Yeah they said in the letter it is harder to move around then the mounts.
I actually like this fact. you really have to learn to ride.

In racing games with the faster cars you usually also need some practice to ride them well.

Yeah I noticed this stat also in the patch notes.

That is really nice. It is like fine tuning the car. Have to look into training the racing chocobo's.

This make training your chocobo so much more interesting.

Which of the 5 stats to go with..

    Yeah I noticed that also.

I also play with controller at times, it is bit harder, smaller pushes with the stick, is making it much easier.

Check what weather your bird likes, then stick to the track that is most likely to have that weather. I know exactly how many times I must press left or right to reach items/boost pads now just from spamming the same track over and over. It just takes practice. It's easier to steer via single button presses then holding left or right.

    The lag defining factor is
" did you and your opponents all jitter, rubberband, or moonwalk at the same time"?
If its just u/ individuals then its working as intended.
But if everyone on ur screen looks like a drunk bastard trying to tokyo drift their way onto a speed boos panel then its probably latency / lag.

Can anyone confirm of this is linked to the 2s delay I get when pressing jump or the lag between hitting the button to use stamina and releasing the button? As it takes a good 3s before the stamina bar goes down then 3-5s after releasing the button to stop using stamina, on ps4 if that makes any difference, my partner on PC is not experiencing the issue

I'm experiencing this issue on my laptop, might have something to do with the hardware that causes the lag but might also be something completely unrelated to the main processors, like networking issue.
It's quite a frustrating problem having this delay while racing. At first I thought it was caused by the software but if other people don't have this problem I would really like to know the reason.
