New Final Fantasy Dissidia a BIG dissapointment!

So that new Developers Blog got my hopes up..

The new Final Fantasy Dissidia is becoming an arcade game and it's highly unlikely North America will see a localization of it in US Arcade hang outs unless they import it.

I was really hoping for another hand-held console/digital download Dissidia but nope. This is kind of a disappointment.

With all of SE's past arcade games.. none have ever been ported to a console. :\

Traditionally, fighting games in japan come out on the arcade first, and later on get ported over to consoles. Which arcade games are you basing this on? It doesn't specifically say in the dev blog entry that they weren't going to import Dissidia via consoles overseas later on. Not making console ports would be a huge mistake as it is, because not only is Dissidia a hit with fans, but it would be bad business for SE.

Let's not jump to conclusions until more concrete info is released, yeah? I mean, the news was released just a few days ago.

Everybody had lost hope about a western release of Final Fantasy Type-0. And SE brings a HD remaster for PS4 and Xbox One next month.

It's is too early to jump to conclusions about a western release for consoles. FF is the strongest SE franchise.

errr... Ehzgeiz did have PS1 port. Plus, I think I read it somewhere that FFD arcade might have console port after arcade release.

I assume they're releasing it as an arcade game first to possibly work out balance issues first. And why wouldn't it turn up on home consoles like every other Arcade game?

from a marketing standpoint, if enough consumers voice their excitement and hopes for a regional/platform specific release they will do it. Rally a bunch of people in various community forums related to dissidia/genre and start a petition.

This is a bit different than other arcade games. This is a game that has prior titles that are in fact on the handheld. Plus I highly doubt they would take their most popular series (final fantasy) that has been on handheld and make brand new models updated graphics etc and only put it on a arcade machine.. I would truly hope SE wouldn't be so oblivious to its fans that they only make it for japan arcades..
