I give up on PvP - here's why

I lost most of PvP fan too, but i sttill find it useful for tomestone grind. I don't know what to do with soldiery but still need poetics. I register to pvp during mass craft of items for sale and interrupt crafting to fight a little ) And i don't worry about result - i don't see any valuable corellation between my efforts and final result. It is also possible to mix frontlines in DF with another nonroulette duties like WoD, Syrcus, etc to reduce wait times. U only need to equip PvE gear set during duty registation - it can be changed to PvP one at start point.

1) Long queue times. 30 min+ queues if you check every pvp box,

The problem is... that the Duty finder search box often does not show the real queue time for pvp..

i do lots of pvp in the prime time.. when it says 26-30+ mins and often the waiting time is just around 5-15 mins..

Opinions:
Challenge log is actually pretty reasonable 10&15% exp towards next level per entries
Wolf marks in abundance! I've bought so many sets that I can't wear, just because I cap so often. I think the ratio of EXP/Reward is off. I can buy every White Mage set up to ilvl9000 and still be rank 25.

Bad points:
Queue times suck
4v4 doesn't exist -> which means 50% of challenge log is useless
Ranking up takes an impossible amount of time due to queues (I just want to wear my cute Swan outfit already...)

As i said.. the pvp queues at 11 am and stuff are bad..

but in the prime time 4/5pm - 11pm the queues are often faster than actual PvM content..

i often queue up for Odin and PVP at the same time.. and pvp often goes up after 5-10 mins.. before Odin opens.
although the box says (26-30+ mins waiting time)..

I'm Rank 43 in Maelstrong, BLM main and PVP is my favorite activity by far (my signature card is outdated btw but not my lodestone page).

I've been playing FF since beta and hit Rank 30 before the FL release (just with Wolfs Den).

Oh and i'm PS3 too^

The reason why i PVP? I just LOVE it, i like having huge scores at Slaughter, and i enjoy killing other players toons.

Well FF has a loot of activities for everyone that's very enjoyable.

I know ps3 sucks at handling 72 people pvp but its not SE fault. i just hate long queues but outside of that i have no grief about these pvp modes

Sorry forgot to mention. I was on Coeurl from since beta to november 2014 and i had 33% 1st places 34% second. Then i moved to Moogle which is on another cluster and noticed no changes at all. Still 33 or 34% win on weekly results as well as overall.

It has been just a bit better at the beginning. If i remember well i had 40% wins at Wolfs Den before FL release ( on 408 matches).

Last week, flames were getting their ass kicked every game. Mid way through the week i had enough and decided to take action, i took control of strat thankfully people listened needless to say i then got 27 wins from around 34 games, currently im on a 17 winstreak.
Not saying its purely down to me, but people need leaders on this game mode if you take control they will listen.
Secure isnt all about mid > defend op> mid > defend op and slaughter actually has strategy, yes i roll blm to all this but i have yet to ever lb spam a team no other blms really talk.
I have come up against lb spammers and tbh they are easily defeated if you work together
Shame about your ques, i usually average 5-20mins except yesterday only 2 games but i put that down to wod reset day

Although blm lb is powerful when used together it singlely it can be easily countered by a competent healer, melee lb however is pretty much a one shot kill

This is what i have been waiting a while aswell, its annoying when you regulary play 4 diffirent jobs in pvp. Also i kinda agree with OP's 2nd point, getting slaughter 24/7 gets rather boring so gieb some 72man secure now and then.

Also always annoying to change, because it's stupid to play slaughter with 4-5 healers. But when you change to a DD specc...

I win sometimes, I lose sometimes. They key is to stay determined. You also have to love pvp and the thrill of being awesome in it, even when the rest of your team isn't, to have fun. Also to be patient when the ques begin to suck :3
I got 714 battles total with a 41.6% victory rate. If you're good, sometimes you can be the reason why your GC wins. Especially in the tighter matches like the 24 man ones. If you lose your spirit too soon, you could become the reason your team loses, too.
I see the OP's point, though, due to the fact that she's maelstrom. I saw someone on maelstrom side one time get on their magitek and start using the cannon like the just didn't' give a crap. That is not to say that Mael never wins though. I've seen them win a few times, definitely not as often as they used to, though. Be patient, they'll get better.

My rank now is 40 in Maelstorm. Usually play as SCH for Aura Blast. I like to grind pvp because since I desynthesis GSM stuff, pvp gear gives BC3. Also I like to aim those animal gear. Sometimes Maelstorm can win streak on Mana data center, but Flame always play dirty trick like joining with Serpent ambush. It makes me mad but whatever I only care with animal gear and BC3 lol.
