Amusing given that there was a dev post on the forums a few weeks ago saying that they were considering early access for pre-orders so that people who order physical copies can access the expansion content even if their order is delayed in the mail. Given that anyone who wants the expansion will inevitably pre-order there is really no one to 'piss off' as you put it.lol about HEADSTART on an xpac this is not a new game launch like 2.0 was. have you ever played any mmo who released something like this before ? otherwise you wouldnt talk such nonsense. headstarts only work on new game releases. like 2.0 was or when game came out with 1.0. you cannot do that on a lvl cap raise expansion.it would royally piss people off. never saw this on a xpac. wont happen. thankfully.

I agree. Guess that's why I am ready to be disappointed.
I have a feeling that they will probably just make it so that if you preorder the game you will be given a code to apply to your account. After the expansion goes live there will be some type of grace period where players can enter in the physical key they would get while still being able to play the game.Originally Posted by Alberel

thats a different thing mate. what they meant was that if you for example order a copy somewere and it does not arrive at launch day you can STILL start together with all others even tough your copy did not arrive yet. thats common practice with mmos actually most the time. there is no EARLY ACCESS for any version on a expansion. its not gonna happen and this is something i am really 100% sure off. because EARLY access means flat out access to the SERVERS when they are up. but you cannot block PAYING customers out since there will be people who already paid for thier sub and they derserve to play the same time the servers are up no matter if they order xpac or not. seriously show me any mmo of the past years that ever did an early access on a expansion. never heared of that ever. ff wont be doing it either. this only works on new releases of mmos.Amusing given that there was a dev post on the forums a few weeks ago saying that they were considering early access for pre-orders so that people who order physical copies can access the expansion content even if their order is delayed in the mail. I'd imagine they'd atleast announce the release date. Perfect time for them to hype up the expansion

Ok, with Pax east being the first week of march, and the next big game convention being E3 in june, it seems very likely that we will be getting the release date and pre-order announcement at Pax.
