Is 3.0 going to bring about new gear with new stats for DOL?

Yes I would like to know this as well. If I start in on the path of forager to lucis, it will take quite a bit of time and gil. Which is fine, that's the point of playing a game like this.
But it would be kind of sad to finally get it all and then the expansion hits and my level 60 botanist gear that I got through simple questing destroys lucis.

there will be better gear that's a given. but probs not till level 60.

lucis will be upgraded again im sure, I think they will continue with this type of progression on the tools but there will be some lesser variations available aswell,

if anything they may make a bunch of new low level nodes and some high ones so as to not totally destroy the current gear in game, as its a bit of a slap in the face to everyone who is working on gear progression on crafters and gatherers if they just make new gear at level 55 or something that far surpases current bis.

I am confident Lucis is the relic for crafters as such it will upgrade for the life of the game. The Main Class tool, will always be the best tool in the game if you keep upgrading it. That goes for Relic as well.
