Yes, there is no setting that will allow you to see a roll AS it's being rolled. You will only see them after all players have rolled or passed, and the item drops.

I've speculated from time to time as to why it's set up this way; it'd be SO nice to see who has forgotten to pass or lot (or is deliberately holding back), and whether you're the leading lot or not (if not, might as well leave the instance). One theory I came up with is that it might discourage ninja-lotters.

They should do something along the lines of "Ready Check", just make something that distinguishes who has either rolled or passed, with no indication of numbers or even if they needed or greeded just a simple check mark or X.
