Anyone else hope for a Besieged-like event in Ishgard?

Don't remember precisely which source, since there have been a lot of 2.5-related press releases, but "The Battle of Ishgard" was most definitely described as a "new type of content." A defense-type instanced encounter seems quite likely, and would do wonders to break up of the monotony of our current end-game DF selection.

I find it quite odd that the most varied selection of instanced content we have is reserved for the "party-play tutorials" otherwise called Guildhests.

It would, however, do nothing to break up the monotony of instanced content... This game really does need casual open world content (like Hunts prior to SE crapping all over the event again in 2.5...) at this point, if the Dragon Battles of Ishgard teased at back in 1.x aren't Besieged/Campaign style, or Hamlet Defense doesn't make its triumphant return soon, I'm going to be pretty annoyed.

Primal Summoning would be absolutely amazing for a Campaign styled event too, though who the hell knows if they're even bothering with that anymore... They hyped it up in a few interviews during 1.x that Free Companies would be able to summon Primals in a world event which changes the weather so everyone knows Ifrit has just been summoned, for example, then they completely drop the concept for I think two years only to say "It needs to make sense in the lore first" and not much else... So much content I was looking forward to (where's my DoL Dungeons?!) seem to have just vanished completely /weep.

Seriously though, imagine a server is losing a fight to defend a Hamlet, only to have a group of absolute heroes drop in with Ifrit to turn the tide. Would be absolutely amazing.
