I'm a paying customer, and my network is so bad lately that I have to use wtfast to play. I demand se to fix my network and redeem all my money that I have lost to wtfast to play this game.

Sony makes companies use their service. There is nothing for SquareEnix to "work out". The service that "you are paying for" that is having problems is not FFXIV or any system that SquareEnix has any measure of control over.

I'm not blameing them per say I'm blaming that they could have this fixed easy but their doing nothing in a paying customer I have a right to complain if I'm not getting a service I pay.

The only quick fix you're asking for is for SE to cut support of the Sony consoles. SE isn't dening you any service to play their game So that argument doesn't even work.

They had way over a year to do something but no word from them they didn't even comment on the people who couldn't get on because of the ddos attack in December if that wasn't enough of a reason for them to do something I don't know what is but if Sony's network goes down on Heavensward release day you know they not going to hear the end of it.

And it will be Sony that deals with it.

You're on their platform, so you have to deal with their idiosyncrasies. Notice PC players don't have to deal with enemies of Sony. Should Square and Microsoft sign a deal for FF14, then Square and Xbox users will probably have to abide by Xbox Live terms. There's no way around this.

anyone here who posted "PC Master-Race" has comparable intelligence to a Coblyn. The OP Started by saying "PC players don't post here" all of your posts, quite frankly, should be deleted.

That being said. I play on PS3, PS4, and 2 different PC's. Literally, two different platforms in each room of my small one bedroom apartment. (only one account) just I can game on whatever screen my g/f isn't using. This fact has kept me a little mroe up-to-date on some topics. . . and I'm going to support Square-Enix on this one.

As all of the posts before me have stated, Square-Enix has not been given a chocie, either use PSN or they wouldn't have been allowed to put it on PS3/PS4. HOWEVER - It could have been worse. From my understanding, Sony wanted all players of FFXIV to be forced onto Playstation Plus subscriptions. Since PS+/XBOXLive are really for services where Sony would be hositng servers etc, and Square is hosting these, (to my understanding) SE pushed back, since we're already paying the subscription cost which includes THEIR server maintenance. Only having a PSN requirement is much better than being forced into PS+

OK OK, I'm also a Playstation Plus subscriber. But not all of us are, and frankly, those of us who either pay for XBOX Live, or Playstation plus memberships, AND subscription fees to games like this, really get our days ruined when PSN/XBOXLive get hit by these DDOS attacks.

I've been tempted to log on here and start a thread "So, what do you do when PSN is down" thread for the PS players here,

I recommend you both repost this thread on Sony Forums. (Maybe edit your original post, linking in the post on Sony's forums) AND get some suggestions on what to do with yourself during maintenance.

Patching/Server maintenance/infrastructure upgrades are a part of modern technology.

What do I do? Clean the house, watch TV, Read a Book.

Or in this case, if there was maintenance last night, I didn't even know, I was playing a Serenity Table Top game

Side note, I'm pretty sure this is not a hard-coded requirement. I can't say for certain as I'm not currently testing this while PSN is down, but I thought the web browser still worked while PSN was under maintenance. It is a political game between Sony and gaming Studios where Sony is trying to force it's "features" onto as many studios as possible. I also would guess that by accepting the terms of PS+ etc is a staple requirement for indie developers as well, since both Sony and Microsoft boast that they are doing more to help indie developers on these consoles.

I wonder if they get paid/download. If they do, then they must love people like me n my g/f. We download everything that's free, regardless if we think it's good or not, just because it could end up being good. or in case a friend comes over and starts talking about it. both my PS3 n PS4 are sooo full of crap >.< lololol. yay for multiple Hard Drives.

Believe me in not trolling and yes I'm a little dense in such stuff I can admit it I know the service is good and they can't help it when out side sources attack them but with out a doubt the real problem is the down for maintenance during the middle of the day I live on the east coast 9am PST is 12pm for me why's it not done by time zones? And again the game license is all ready on the hard drive as well as the psn user info so again why do we need psn to check this info if it's all ready on our hard drive.

I put this because I'm tired of people just saying go PC or PC master race this that isn't what this is about they don't play on this platform so they sent as affected by this unless they have groups with people who do use psn for the game. So the people who just say go PC have no voice here.
