Is 3.0 going to bring about new gear with new stats for DOL?

I was thinking about taking up the grind to "re"max my botanist. But I might just hold off if 3.0 is going to grant better gear that is easier to attain.

Any word on this?

3.0 will be the expansion and is months away. On Feb. 24th there will be a major patch. The only thing I've heard is that they will add more 4* nodes. The expansion comes with an extra 10 levels. So... yeah, there will be better gear.

2.5 dropped the gathering requirement to 353 from 408 to get Foragers. So it's never been easier to get to max level gatherer. You can effectively skip foragers and Supra and go straight to lucis right now. This makes it a great time to get new gear and rush to Max. Do it before feb 24th, and you'll be set to hit those cool new nodes without a food buff.

That said, if you're only interested in efficiently making gil, spirit bonding, and crafting on our server is much better. Gathering is only necessary if you find it fun, (I do) or you are having cash flow issues.

Thanks for the info. I actually do enjoy gathering. It is my main activity in the game coupled with some light crafting.

I have foragers hat and hatchet. But I don't know what else to get. I think I need to upgrade and meld a bunch of my gear.

If anyone has a link to best in slot DOL gear max melded, that would be greatly appreciated.

Well, you can't ACTUALLY skip Supra, since the Supra is one of the trade-in items to acquire Lucis. But you can definitely skip Forager's.

Well, yoou can skip using it, by farming the Lucis mats, and you will have acquired the trade ins for Supra by the time you get Lucis. Vs farming 99 antumbral rock, and THEN starting the HQ Antumbral like the rest of us did.

I would love to see the precise timing involved in pulling this off where the newly acquired Supra is not used even once, but merely traded in.

Based on my low amount of Mastercraft Demimateria, I've been using Forager's/Foragers for a loooong time. If I had the GC Seals to buy the Moonstones I need for my Luci I would have done this. Since you don't need Mastercraft/Fieldcraft demimateria to get your Luci, the Supra is far more heavily gated behind non-mining related factors.

there will be new left side gear + new offhand tools + new main hands + new accessories

Since you don't need Mastercraft/Fieldcraft demimateria to get your Luci, the Supra is far more heavily gated behind non-mining related factors.

as stated just above you need supra to get lucis. and since you need mastercraft and fieldcraft3 demi's for that then you do still need those items to get lucis

there is no way around it right now, you need supra to get lucis.

only question i have to this is will our current lucis tools be completely trivialized, or will we be able to upgrade them further in the expansion
