Crafting? Gathering? Do i need?

So i started playing the game about 15 days ago.. Have a lvl 50 BLM, lvl 50 SMN, and lvl 15 archer... all i been doing is gearing and doing dungeons... but never payed attention to crafting or gathering.. should i look more into it? any benefits ?

Haha nice work. As said above its completely optional. Everything right now can be obtained through Gil I think..
