I finally did it... disabled tells with busy status. RMT unbearably bad.

No, this encroaches on real players who won't even know why they can't send tells. The trial already limits tells as well and that would be the primary culprit.

3) Let us blacklist more people.

If your list is full I guarantee you can delete the first 190 right now and you won't hear from a single one of them. The spam accounts are only used for a few days before they are baned or abandoned. Your list is full of people that don't exist anymore. Flush it out. I have at most 5 people on mine right now because I go through every few weeks and flush out the list. No ill effects at all. Been doing this for over a year now.

4) Give us a quick option to clear our blacklists.

Definitely fair. Although once you learn to maintain the list more effectively it becomes a non-issue. Lots of people just let the list hit 200 people when it was unnecessary to begin with.

5) Give us more settings about what tells we'd like to block (tells from strangers, tells from people not on friend list, not in FC, not in LS, etc.)

My only problem with this is it will have a "set it and forget it" mindset. Suddenly you aren't receiving legit tells but you won't even know because you set the settings months ago. Square already has a filter in place to prevent RMT tells. That's why they are so cryptic looking these days. They are trying to get past that filter. Any filter on your end wouldn't target RMT so much as you would be blacklisting entire swaths of innocent people. It's still pretty heavy handed and even you yourself said it wasn't a real fix for you.

6) Don't allow the sending of many tells within short time frames.

If I remember correctly they already do this.

Honestly clear your blacklist so you can add the new people to it. You really don't need someone on the list after a few days. They are just taking up space on your list now and preventing you from using the intended tool to handle these issues. Square will never ever ever be perfect at stoping RMT. No MMO is. The best you can do is manage your blacklist better.

Yeah back when I learned it worked this way I had to do nearly the whole list too. It sucked but it was a one time task now that I manage it better.

I had to do this recently as i hit the limit on my blist, now i only have 2 or 3 on the list...every time i think of adding a spammer to my list i think back to that day and the chore i went through deleting names one by one, and cactuar has gotten pretty bad lately as i have my alt there...as im sure other servers too have spammer issues just the same, i just go to tonberry when it gets really bad for a little peace and quiet. ~__~

So you don't get repeats on the same day.

I go through once every 3-4 weeks and I only ever need to remove about 5 as it is. It's easy enough just to shut the spammers up.

The spammers on your server must be lazy or something. On a daily basis on Leviathan, I see different names multiple times a day. I'd say about 7 different names over the course of several hours.

I'd say it's because I'm on Balmung and it's hard as heck to even get in the server to make a new spam bot.

In my opinion I don't think tells annoy me, just the noise of getting one. If I could disable that noise without effecting anything else, I wouldn't mind the spam.
