LOL I'm sure there is a lot of good substance here... but I couldn't force myself to read past this under paladin .... "High HP/Least likely to get targeted." Someone has not played a tank in slaughter mode...
If there was a PLD, WAR, and MNK attacking/charging your group who would you attack first. Pretty sure most would say the MNK.
Tanks are only ever targetted first in slaughter because they're the only ones brave enough to be in range. When there is only 1 target they then become the most likely and least likely target.
The moment a NIN/MNK/DRG/lolBRD/etc. gets in range, people switch targets (unless the tank is pretty much dead) to them because they are indisputably easier to kill.
When teams rush the opposing team the last ones to ever die are the tanks.
Also Frontlines:Slaughter is only 1 of 3 modes for PvP. Attacking (does not include CCs) the tanks first are considered idiotic and a waste of time in the other 2 modes.

It's a good write-up, really. As he already replied, that part is true. 95% of the time as tank I need to be in the heart of an enemy crowd in Slaughter to be paid any mind. Forget about Secure and WD.
SMN:
Con: No useful CC, inability to peel,
Pro: Self-heal, can rape multiple people simultaneously
tri disaster is one of the most OP cc's in the game
Kinda hard to cast Tri-Disaster with melee in your face but if we're talking about Slaughter or getting the first attack its pretty useful.
