How to kill an economy 101. I just did my own spiritbonding to get my materia, there was zero out-of-pocket expense. It takes time and effort but it's doable. Easily.

It would hardly kill the economy. Would it make Grade IV practically non-existent on the MB? Likely, yes, but with a vendor that wouldn't really be an issue since there would be an affordable place to obtain them now.

That's why people either bind a whole bunch of stuff at once, or just go for crafting/gathering materia, sell it, and use the profits to buy the materia they need.
