More "Towers" or other Final fantasy throwbacks.

The towers and World of darkness is one of my favorite things. I love how they add content from old final fantasy games. but someone told me they were not going to add more.

first of all., is this true or a rumor?!

they need to add more if anything.


FF6 Floating island ( let us fight Kefka , and even maybe Leo?)
FF7 Shinra Tower - Ruby and Emerald Weapons
FF8 Lunar Base

They could explain it with the Empire making portal tech or something.

I like all the throw backs, and I love the Setzer gear for golden saucer.

I know there is a lot of quests and word play that is a reference or way or another to a old final fantasy. I just want more.

Even though FFXIV is a deliberate fanservice title, a line has to be drawn sometime - because the game would lose it's own unique identity if all SE did was fill it with fanservice areas and dungeons. FFIII's Crystal Tower was a unique aspect to the game - Yoshi P is on record as saying FFIII is his favourite FF game, and thus it makes sense he'd add the final dungeon from it accordingly as a case of author appeal.

It could also be thought of as a fond tribute to Hiromichi Tanaka, the original producer of FFXIV 1.0 (whom Yoshi replaced after 1.0's disastrous launch) who had also been the producer of FFIII as well (and FFXI much later).

From this, it's clear content that is more than just npc or quest names tends to only be added if there is a deeper, meta reason behind it (such as the FFXIII event being cross marketing with the release of Lightning Returns and a private joke shared between Yoshi and Motomu Toriyama). Thus I doubt very much FFXIV will become an online equivalent of Dissidia.

Let FFXIV be it's own unique world with it's own unique areas, and leave fanservice crossover areas for the spinoff games.

Ultimecia's castle from ff8 as a raid please? (I can dream). I am pretty sure that the introduction of triple triad may bring in some ff8 fan service anyway .

They already said they are making the next raid unique to FFXIV. And I want more uniqness to this FF.

Honestly, they could wait til they ran out of ideas first and then throwback to everything possible.
There will always be references and FanService. Though I wouldn't mind the places the OP listed.

I'm fine if they alternate between the expansions... one more throwback one more original. Also depends if they can integrate it with the lore.
