Party Finder Misuse - Social/General Finder Needed

I just think that the Party Finder should officially support the uses it's mainly put to "See Comment" seems to be used most because there is no "Hunt" or "Service" or "Wanted" selections. I don't even look at it because you actually cannot know what people are asking for just by looking at it really since there is not icon for the things it's used most often for... I would love to have those given icons and incorporated properly.

OP's suggestion would not make hunt parties disappear/move over to the OP's proposed alternative finder, only the "selling 4* stuff" and so on.

A bulletin board will never be looked at so what is the point? I have never seen pf flooded with this to the point where I can't find anything I might be looking for. Not a problem at all.

Someone always brings up this complaint and the responses are always the same; PF advertising for anything besides a party is fine. Do you want people to just shout everything and clutter up the chat logs?

Imo if you can't be bothered to read the description of a few extra parties and/or use the search option to find what you're looking for, you weren't really that interested of doing things anyway.

Maybe add an option from the drop down list: Hunts, Selling/Buying, etc. so that they can be filtered instead of hiding all the "Refer to Comment" PFs in one go.

The annoying thing is that you can't do anything else while sitting in a PF, trying to sell something or recruit people.

I don't see how people can simply go "it works just fine!!" if we constantly have to decide between looking for an actual party to run content with or trying to advertise ourselves for things that are just as important to us.

Thinking in a straight line, don't do it.

Um how is this affecting you in any way? Is it preventing you from making parties, or is it preventing you from joining parties? Because I don't see how this could be an issue for anyone.

The other day (on Balmung), there were 21 listings in the Party Finder.

All but two of them were ads for selling crafted items or high-value drops.

You had to read ALL of the ads to find the two actual parties, which were near the bottom of the list. The sellers mostly worded their ads to look enough like actual party listings, so you couldn't just skim.

There's already a place to buy and sell things - the auction house. Use that.

I'm very tired of looking for fcob runs and such only to finally get to the info on the recruitment info ONLY TO FIND OUT ITS A TROLL SELLING RUNS.

I at lest use the blank recruitment to find people to fill my static.

We really need something like an in game message board at the adventures guild for stuff like this.

There is a reason you advertise stuff on PF, you very well know it is because that is where everyone looks. People will always advertise where there is the most exposure. What good is having another advertising board that people rarely ever go to? It will all just go back to shouts or PF.
