Party Finder Misuse - Social/General Finder Needed

I think plenty have noticed already, but the party finder is currently being misused far too often by people selling items, selling crafting services and raid runs. Not to mention people are using it to look for static parties, statics looking for people and FCs looking for people. It been to the point for a while now that these kinds of activities dominate the party finder screen more than actual party recruitment activities.

I'm not here to suggest these activities be regulated. I get it, I understand the convenience of using the party finder for these kinds of things and it clearly fulfills a demand of the community.

Rather, I'd like to suggest that a Social or General Finder be created that shares similar functionality to the Party Finder. It would function just like the current Party Finder: players can write short messages with short expiration times. Categories could be changed to something more relevant to the use of this new Finder(Selling Item, Crafting Item, Looking for Static/FC, Etc) and they could even retain being able to join the party of the advertiser as I understand that function is useful for a lot of the advertising activities; just restrict it to All/All and drop the item level requirement.

Separating everything out to two separate Finders would make it more convenient for both types of activities, as people looking for parties would only see relevant results and people looking for other services would only see those services.

not sure if it was you that brought it up a month or so ago, but no, this is not missuse of party finder. no idea where you think party finder is strickly for one thing, but its not. its to possibly get a group together to do x thing. the fact that a "See Comment" selection exists in things to do supports players using party finder how they want without having to go thru a second menu within a menu. this request is pretty pointless imo.

Um how is this affecting you in any way? Is it preventing you from making parties, or is it preventing you from joining parties? Because I don't see how this could be an issue for anyone.

Always kind of felt like it should be called Bulletin Board instead of Party Finder. It's used pretty much like the aforementioned. Expand support to item sale and encompass everything!

OP's suggestion would not make hunt parties disappear/move over to the OP's proposed alternative finder, only the "selling 4* stuff" and so on.

I like the idea. There really isn't an overflow of said party finder ads, but it wouldn't hurt to have some sort of in game message board. But then again... "data limitations."

Yeah the hunt stuff was just me hating hunts at the moment I made the post, because all of my friends on my list would rather do hunts than fun stuff

a message board would just get the same treatment that OPs idea would; lack of use. why use a secondary option if the first works just fine? there is no real reason for it besides "i dont like seeing this in party finder, this isnt what party finder was for".
